There's no mention of Paris this year: though mother holds something far greater behind her; smile coy and conspiratory. "You've been sighing after one for quite some time, darling." A wink; she was struggling to keep still. "And I have relented. Merry Christmas, dear Elizabeth." Carefully, she manoeuvred her arms; brought out a puppy; golden, with a red ribbon upon its neck with a beaming smile. "What shall you name her?"
there is something about life –– life in its purest form –– that elizabethloves more than anything. dogs show a spark in their eyes that remindsher of that. it’s why she always loved watching them out the window, watching them through tears. but never did she imagine there would be a puppy in her arms, tonguelapping at her face, tail wagging so hard its whole body wiggles. she can’t keep a grin off of her face as she tilts her head up towards her mother, arms full of puppy and eyes brimming with joy. ❛ how about... shelley? after mary shelley? ❜ of course the first place her mind goes is literature, but it fits.
