Shinichi and Kazu -- Rare Interest
~~* Screw that.
The first day of class was bullshit. Mainly because he was too shy to talk to anyone and just stuck to being "the new guy" for the day. Everyone just stared at him and whispered to each other but he remained mostly secluded. He didn't want to meet anyone, he didn't want to make introductions. He wanted to go back to Higachuu and Trek with Kogarasumaru again. But that was too far and a long ago activity.
So, instead of going to school the second day, like he should have, he skipped school and went out Trekking for the day. He soared between buildings and flipped backwards, careful not to set the sky on fire. It freaked people out when fire streaked the air and the news would talk about meteors and aliens and other stupid shit and Kazu was careful not to do it too often - but it was amusing to listen to people called Kazu a meteor and an alien, because he knew the truth.
When the sun hit the highest point in the sky, the blond was soaked in sweat from the amount of exercise he exerted and the fire of his Regalia that so wanted to be free. But it was an inappropriate time and he didn't need anymore stress from other Storm Riders during the first week in Bunkyo.
He found a nice little cafe to order an ice coffee from, even though he wasn't too huge a fan of them. He just needed something cold to drink that would give him a little more energy. He was exhausted but it was a nice exhausted he could only find after doing so much in a run. It was what he needed to relieve the stress that was new city, new school, being the "new guy".
His gaze cast across the cafe to meet the eyes of another young student who he had seen only once before in the halls of Spica. A fellow skipper? There was a moment of staring and realizing they were sharing a secret that should never be spoke. Kazu only remembered the student because he thought he had stupid hair. He had seen a lot of crazy hairstyles in his time, but a cowlick was new. Well, excluding that one guy...
He tore his eyes away and returned his attention at his iced coffee. There was a hint of vanilla and cappuccino somewhere in his drink and he didn't remember ordering any extra shots but he didn't really care. It had been a while since he had an iced coffee. He tilted hiss head to the side, resting his jaw in his hand, and stared out the window beside him through the logo of the cafe shop. He didn't really pay attention to what he was looking at, instead lost in thought about the home he greatly missed.
The sun caught on metal and glinted brightly into Kazu's eyes. He squinted, annoyed, then rubbed his eye. He scowled and looked back outside the window in search of the source of the glint only to spot, across the street, a man training an automatic gun at a cashier across the street in the convenience store. He lifted his head suddenly, alert and shocked. "Oh, shit," he whispered and he stood suddenly. At first, he was afraid he was seeing things. "...Son of a bitch," he whispered.
~~* His day just got a whole lot more interesting.
