– part 1 for the open event “give back” {part 2}
>>i’m sorry i won’t be posting a new tutorial like i actually should today (i will do so next saturday so check it out then!) but i have to announce something!
i guess i don’t have to repeat the whole story, i’m ranting about it for almost 5 minutes in the video but here’s the link to the sowon campaign: fundraising.com/project/sowon
i’m grateful for anybody helping out and i will keep you updated on how things go~! also i’m thinking about hosting a giveaway to everyone who’s donating, what do you think? let me know in the comments below!
i love you and i hope we can make something great together ♥ <<
//upon clicking the ‘start button’ of the video a short intro is played - just a bunch of random scenes of chaewon (some with blonde hair, some still with her natural black hair) with a bit of glitter texture added upon them - before the logo blends in: ‘princess won’ written in a pretty font with a fancy crown topping the second word//
//after the intro fades off there’s chaewon sitting in her room, hair tied up in a pretty half-updo with a bright red bow holding up the blonde locks, and smiles into the camera// hey fairies, how are you~? //a soft chuckle falls from her lips at the nickname she just came up for her fans watching// like you can probably guess this isn’t another tutorial or vlog but I felt like it’s very important to do so here i am~ //pushing a few wavy stands of her hair behind her ear chaewon tries to look a bit more serious but the smile seems to be stuck on her features// as some of you might know my sister is currently studying to become a surgeon so she’s an intern at the samsung medical center. i went to visit her a few days ago and... //her gaze wanders to the ceiling for a moment as she’s thinking about how to phrase it before looking back at the camera// ...honestly i was shocked. there was a whole ward dedicated to children only and while waiting i did some research.
//there’s a cut, barely noticeable to the eye but the strands chaewon had pushed back earlier were back in place, framing her face, as she took a deep breath - her smile has almost faded completely// my sister had told me later on that the children i saw weren’t just sick but beyond recovery. there’s a whole complex for incurable patients who are just getting treated for pain relieving. //chaewon again stops talking and swallows before her tongue darts out to moisten her lips// i know my videos usually aren’t so heavy and i feel sorry for burden you with this but seeing this situation really got to me and i spend days thinking about what to do in order to change this. and after a bit more research and thinking i came up with something! //her lips form a smile again - obviously happy to present her idea for the first time - and just as she’s sitting up straight there’s a logo popping up in the right upper corner: it’s a circle made out of a twirly, fancy line - somehow remembering of a tendril with tiny flowers attached - with a capital but very thin lettering inside, although it was divided into two the word ‘sowon’ was easy to be read//
thanks to you, my lovely fairies, i realized that i can change something. i know i’m not in the position to ask something from you but i hope that you would support this as much as you support me with watching my tutorials, sharing the looks i created and giving me feedback so often. //the smile on her face is as genuine as possible and it shows much she really cares about her fans// so may i present? i created something called the ‘sowon foundation’~ //although she’s pointing upwards her finger isn’t directing directly at the logo displayed so short annotation reading ‘whoops, imagine i didn’t point at the wrong place’ plops up// i’m sorry for the low quality logo but i will touch up on that later on. more important is, what’s behind that logo.. but it was clever that i parted it as ‘so won’, isn’t it?
//another cut, more obviously this time as chaewon isn’t pointing up anymore// so sowon works as a charity project dedicated to the samsung medical center - and more precisely of course the children ward i talked about earlier. i created an account of fundraiser.com to be able to collect any help to make the world a bit better for those patients //she looks a bit shy at this point but nevertheless she goes on talking about her plans// the easiest way of contributing is of course donating some money and i’d really appreciate it as every month half of the money will be given to the hospital to make the environment a bit nicer - a bit more color on the walls, more books, toys and plushes for the children to play with, more comfortable beds and so on... //while explaining chaewon gesticulates a bit more than she would usually and although there is a passion sparkling in her eyes she looks more mature and adult than ever before// even the smallest changes could make their life so much more comfortable! oh, and the other half of the money will be collected until there’s enough to finance some bigger projects //she emphasizes the last two words but smiles then again as her favorite part of explaining is following// after all i called this sowon for a reason - and yes, it’s a pun on my name and all - but with the meaning of sowon (wish) i wanted to achieve that those children get the chance to have their dreams and wishes becoming truth. of course time is running but i think they still deserve it and sometimes fulfilling a wish is way easier than thought.
//the logo in the corner disappears and instead there’s a popup of a web address, clickable and all, showcasing the fundraising site// of course any kind of other donations - be it toys or other things you don’t need anymore or the offer to help out with your presence - are more than welcome. you can visit this site and get all information needed there as well~ and of course you can donate money so that we can make something happen. i already put in the bit money i actually own and will donate everything i have left over from now on. so please be kind and help some children in need? //she shows some finger-hearts to her audience before pointing at the link - this time it’s working out properly// i love you guys~
//there’s a black screen for a mere second before the sowon logo as well as the link appear on the screen again - together with the plead to head over to the site and support the foundation by donating some money//
//after a bunch more seconds chaewon appears on the screen again, obviously she’s been through with the actual recording as her hair isn’t tied up anymore and she’s untangling some strands with her fingers// for anyone wondering: i had this cheat sheet stuck right behind the camera~ //she reaches forward, apparently getting something behind the camera before she shows off a piece of light pink paper covered in neatly written notes// and i guess it took me about an hour to record this without a mistake... //she thinks for a moment but nods then to herself// ...why does my sister work at such a hard to pronounce place?
//there are a few cuts, showing chaewon talking but messing up to pronounce ‘samsung medical center’ several times before cutting to a scene of the girl sitting in front of her desk - her chin rested on her hand as she’s spacing out as it seems - before she shakes her head quickly and glances at the camera// i have to do this! //she shows a v-sign to the camera and smiles before sitting up straight again//
//the video is over and the suggestions are showing up, mostly including makeup tutorials by the blonde girl owning the channel ‘princess won’//

sometimes chaewon hated the world and everything in it. and this was one of those moments.
she hated seoul for being so modern and not using keys in most apartment complexes but keypads and codes. she hated the apartment she was living in for being completely intact so she couldn’t slip inside without the code. she hated her sister for being at work in the middle of the night and being too busy to answer any of her desperate messages or calls. and mostly she hated herself for forgetting the code and not writing it down.
so she’s stuck. it was already half past one in the morning and all she could do was sit in front of the convenience store. from the point she was sitting at she could see the apartment on the 13th floor - so close but still so far away. well, actually she couldn’t see it anymore since it was pitch dark and chaewon was not only terribly scared of the dark but for the most part also night blind. but she saw it before the sun had left so she remembered where it was.
and although it would be worrisome for most people to see a teenager in such a situation chaewon didn’t have any other option. this store was the only one that was still open so it was the only source of light around. she could’ve sit down underneath a street light as well but then she’d really be mistaken for a waif.
checking the time on her phone the girl let out a deep sigh. 00:53. her sister would be back around 04:00. so she had more than two more hours to spend there. those would surely be the longest hours in her life.

with wide eyes - not completely sure if she’s watching in awe or shock - she followed the movements of the people around. chaewon could barely comprehend the beauty of it, imagining how pretty those moves would look on a stage with a spotlight following every single step. but while she was watching the girl knew exactly that she didn’t fit in the picture.
reality pulled her back as the teacher turned to them and announced with a smile that they’ll be learning this routine until the end of the class. that moment chaewon realized she was terribly wrong inside this room. physically she lined up with the other dancers - the biggest difference had to be the loose bun her long hair was tied up in as she refused to make it any tighter for the sake of hair growing healthy - but as everybody else seemed to get ready chaewon just felt lost.
she was supposed to do what she got showed just now? impossible. she highly doubted she could keep her balance about half of the time - let alone look graceful. but she was there and she wanted to touch up on her ballet skills, or at least that what she called skills, so there was no backing out anymore.

after chaewon looked over the amount of makeup on the table she nodded satisfied to herself - a collection of palettes ranging from all kinds of eyeshadow to blush and contouring and highlighter, bottles of all sizes containing everything from bb cream over makeup remover to fixing spray, cases filled with small items like eyeliner, mascara or different types of concealer as well as a huge container filled with at least two dozen different brushes were placed on said table. it took her all morning to gather her makeup from the corners of her room and her bathroom. and although the actually table wasn’t visible anymore those were only her favorites and she had at least double the amount still scattered around her room.
the girl was sure she wouldn’t need half of it, probably not even two thirds, but she was better safe than sorry. forgetting just one item usually meant she would have to rerecord her makeup tutorials and she’s been there too often to make that mistake again. especially since this time it wouldn’t be only her own time she’d waste but someone else’s as well.
absently chaewon strokes over the fluffy hair of some brushes - checking that they were really clean before using them on someone else’s face - and hummed to herself. “soo... what do you think about glitter?”
she turned around to face dabin and a smiles spread over her face. she already had so many ideas what to do with her.

doe-like chaewon watched the blonde female passing her by before stopping in her tracks. it has just been a mere second she had laid eyes on the other but with that distinctive color of her brightly bleached hair chaewon was sure there was no way she was confusing the stranger for someone else.
that had to be jinsoul. the girl at the current season of mga chaewon could make out in every crowd. actually based on that unique hair color most people would but she was sure even if she’d dye them dark her beauty would still shine so strong and make her outstanding in every way.
and although chaewon never met someone being quite as shy as her she couldn’t resist to follow the older female. her body was acting on its own. as if in trance she stumbled after jinsoul until she was right behind her. her fingers reached out and brushed over the arm of the familiar stranger - the touch so hesitant and soft chaewon couldn’t even tell for sure she wasn’t imagining it.
“hey... uhm.. excuse me?”
the second she opened her mouth her brain was finally kicking in and realizing what was going on. her voice was barely about a whisper and all of the sudden chaewon wasn’t too sure anymore if that was a good idea.

tears were pooling in her eyes as her fingers brushed through her hair. absently she stared at the ground in front of her feet, barely noticing how her body was moving just the slightest bit to catch up with her mind racing. her hands were restless as she tried to tell herself that she wouldn’t cry. but as minutes were passing by the chances of her controlling herself were getting smaller.
it wasn’t the first time the blonde girl would cry her heart out in public - in fact she had done it way too often to keep count - but this time she really tried to keep those tears back. usually some elders would notice her crying sooner or later and ask what’s wrong. but chaewon knew none of them would understand why it was so terrifying to her that she lost the flower crown she was wearing all day long. or at least until she apparently dropped it somewhere off and forgot it.
the girl knew she should get up from the bench and go back to find it - after all it had to be inside the mall she spend most of the day at. her beloved accessory would be waiting for her in one of those stores. but she couldn’t find the courage to get up. she just wanted to cry.
