What about you? What if you end up hurting him?
She freezes, jaw clenched tight. It’s a possibility she’s never considered--what if she hurts Three? A long, slow breath escapes her lungs and her fingers once again claw at nothingness, then at the skin of her arms under her sleeves as she folds them over her chest. But she doesn’t have a problem, there is no problem. Va tutto bene. Lei sta bene.
“I wouldn’t.”
Are you worried that Three will end up hurting you?
The question strikes her as absurd. How could Three--dolce, bella Three--hurt her? Her brow furrows dramatically, a started laugh sweeping from her lungs like a bird through the air. “No. He will not.”
bed, wed, behead: three, dawn, diva
Though she doesn’t quite understand the point of the question, she recognizes simply by tone of voice that it is one, and strives to understand the meaning behind it. She understands that they’re asking about Three, and that the blonde girl from the forest, and the one with hair like fire... but she can’t quite place the question itself.
“Hmm?”
Bed: DawnWed: ThreeBehead: Diva (if only bc that’s all that’s left. nothing personal.)
Who is your favourite lost child?
Remarkably, it’s a question she both understands and has a distinct answer for within seconds of being asked--a feat so rarely accomplished by the young beauty.
“Three.”
