He was the one that said he was speedy as this type of thing and it was cold, she was tired and she just wanted to get into some place that was warm.  She was willing to give him another minute, but of course, he didn't finish the job. Hell, she could have done this faster! Again, she was about to mouth off before his mouth was on hers and she started returning it just a second before it ended and he was asking her if she was going to shut up. "I don't know, are you actually going to do it or are you going to fucking keep taking forever and get us caught? And don't ever do that again jerkface."

When Apollo arrived at their usual meeting spot at the park with a bruise on his face, it was the only thing that Winter noticed despite the fact that he was trying to get her attention away from it. "Who. Did. It?" She asked firmly, those emerald green eyes locking on him and waiting for an answer and when she finally got it out of him? Winter was gone, telling him to wait there.

She was gone nearly an hour and a half and when she finally came back, her leather jacket had a cut in it, her hair was a mess and her knuckles were cut open and bruised. Winter didn't say anything at first, just dropping down into the swing next to Apollo before looking over at him. "They won't bother you again. So, pizza or burgers because I'm kind of leaning towards pizza."

Acting like nothing was wrong or she didn’t look a mess was the usual for her wh en it came to looking after the guy beside her. God only knows its happened more than once.

That day was just like any other in Winter's life. Most of the time she got away unscathed from opening her mouth to the group she usually hung around. Sometimes she just had a little too much fun poking at the supposed tough guys of the group of runaways. At least it gave her something to do.

Except today one of them completely lost his temper and threw a couple punches. She didn't really think by night time that her eye would hurt as bad as it did, but at least it wasn't swollen shut.

Just as she'd finally gotten somewhat comfortable behind the dumpster that she slept behind, she noticed someone in the corner of her eye and glanced over, eyes immediately narrowing. "You're in the wrong neighborhood three piece. Take a wrong turn out of your fancy restaurant or something?"

She was always a little rough around the edges and some people always said that someday she'd even out and stop being so untrusting about everyone. It was a maybe. At first she thought Jughead was just some weird guy that didn't really fit in anywhere and was too quiet to really partake in anything actually fun.

She was wrong though and she could at least admit that now. No one really believed her when she'd actually tell them what they got up to but who cares right? They knew what happened and that was good enough for Winter.

They were just good friends and it had been forever since Winter connected with someone on the same level as she did Jughead. They were both stubborn and did get into fights sometimes but they always worked it out in the end. Sort of like him and that redhead that she wanted to punch sometimes (she always refrained though because she didn't want Jughead getting mad or be put in the middle).

When her name was called, she gave a hum and looked over only to see Jughead leaning in and then feeling lips pressed against hers. Huh?!

"Uh what the hell was that for?"

“I actually was never going to tell you, it wasn’t relevant.” Winter said with a shrug and ran a hand through her messy curls. “You were never supposed to find out either.” Great, now the other knew what Winter’s brother did for a living, which was work for a gang. The one thing that she was asked to do and somehow she blew it.
