He doesn’t know what happened, but it doesn’t really matter for the moment. He just wanted to make his master feel better somehow.

“Aruji-sama.” Yamato sighs and kneels down next to the girl, gently chastising her. “It doesn’t really do any good to lie about being sick.” Especially when it was pretty obvious that she was. Why did it seem like his masters were always doing things like that?

 “I understand that you want to keep working, but you’ll just make yourself worse if you don’t rest. Please let me take you back to bed.”

“I’m fine, really. I’m just a little tired, that’s all.”

No, he wasn’t, but maybe he really is too much like his master after all. He thinks he might be coming down with something and he may or may not have a fever, but he wasn’t really going to let that stop him from getting some things done today. 

Or that’s what he was going to do, except the Saniwa caught him.

“Please don’t worry about me, aruji. I’m fine.” He knows it’s probably not going to work on Souji any better than it would’ve worked on Kashuu, but it’s worth a try anyway.

Yamato narrowed his eyes and frowned at the saniwa. “Aruji-sama, you don’t look so good. Are you feeling alright?”

She looked rather pale and tired. No matter how the uchigatana might feel about his current master, and he certainly had no reason to dislike her, the idea of his master getting sick was never going to be something that sat well with him. Even if it was just a cold, he couldn’t help worrying.

“So, you want me to do your nails for you?” He tilts his head a bit at the saniwa’s request.

He’s honestly a little surprised since it’s not like people ask him to do that for them often. Of course, he’s also delighted since this is an opportunity to get to do something with his master and that was always a good thing for Kashuu. He plays it cool, though. No point in making too big of a deal out of it.

“Ora ora ora!” 

Yamato was in the training hall, practicing on his own again. It wasn’t as effective as training with Kashuu or one of the others, but it was a bit late at night, and he didn’t want to keep any of his friends up too much. 

He landed on the mat after executing another technique, pausing for a moment as he caught his breath and straightened holding the bokken out in front of him. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out, wondering how long he’d been here. It might be a good idea to quit soon and go to bed. He didn’t want to tire himself out after all. He needed to stay in good condition if he wanted to remain useful.

That’s when he heard a sound near the doorway. Turning his head to look over his shoulder, he’s a little surprised to see the saniwa standing there.

“Aruji-sama? What are you doing up this late?”

“Aruji, are you busy? I needed to ask about something.” 

Kashuu opens the sliding door of the Saniwa’s office, looking fairly casual as he pokes his head in. He’s not entirely sure if he’s going to get any answers about the little incident from earlier this way or not, but he might as well try asking about it first. It was the best option he had at the moment.
