Been toying around with the idea of Boss dropping some French here and there cause he’s a goober and also cause it might just be a habit from growing up. Like I can totally see his mom teaching him the language as he grew and them having full-on conversations in it. This is pretty common in my household considering my parents are from Nicaragua.

Learning other languages would honestly be of such a benefit to the Boss anyways. When you conduct business across the globe (at least I’m trying to establish that) it’s a super good idea to know your shit in order to better yourself for whatever’s to come. Also he’s dealing with criminals so god knows what the fuck could happen.

I make it a note to mention that Django (just gonna use his name now) makes a conscious effort to better himself i various different ways. If he intends on being the baddest motherfucker in the criminal underworld then he sure as shit needs the skills to back it up. Of course not everything but he definitely knows various things that help him throughout his career.

And language is definitely one of them.

◎: What is your muse’s most prized mundane possession? Why do they value it so much?

I HAVEN’T REALLY THOUGHT OF THAT BUT I LIKE TO IMAGINE HE’S KEPT A LOT OF SHIT FROM WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER. I’LL GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT.

♞: Who was your muse’s idol when they were growing up? Who did they first fantasize about being like?

I think Boss had plenty of idols growing up given the time he was born in and what sort of people he would see. People he still respects to this day because he thinks they’re absolutely amazing and really cool. An in-canon one is Burt Reynolds as we all have seen in the third game. Probably why he does that pose in one of his takedowns which is a straight-up reference (I assume.) to Reynolds’ Cosmopolitan centerfold.

He took great inspiration from a lot of wrestlers as well. I mean the guy suplexes people to death so I think that’s a given. Some notable names would be Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, George ‘the Animal’ Steele, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Macho Man Randy Save, The Iron Shiek, and so on! Like really, Boss would straight-up cut a promo if he wanted to. I mean can we count his threat to Monica Hughes as one? I would, but that’s cause I’m a dink.

☥: If events in your muse’s life had gone very differently to how they did, what would they have done with their life? What sort of occupation might they have chosen for themselves and would they, in your opinion, be happier than they are now?

This is gonna be really dumb but I don’t think Boss would ever have settled into a lifestyle that didn’t involve some form of criminal activity. Given my hc’s for his upbringing I think he more or less would have gone down the path of a criminal either way. Now whether or not it would be a gang, some mob, a thief, or whatever is really all dependent on so many things. I just can’t seem him in any other position other than criminal. It’s kind of dumb but it’s like something so cemented in me.

♢: In what situation would your muse feel most out of their comfort zone?

The immediate one I can think of is Boss being on a ship or just anything that goes on the water more or less. Getting blown up at the age of 21 really fucks you over, especially when that whole situation was brought upon by someone you once trusted. So he hasn’t felt at ease whenever on one and more or less begrudgingly deals with it when he has to. I’m more than positive this can change given how he’s come so far from that, but it’s something that can stick.

Especially when he’s retained some of those scars.

➜: What sort of things does your muse keep in their pockets on any given day?

His wallet with different cards and a whole lot of money. Keys and cellphone as well. If he’s wearing a jacket of some sort he’d have his sunglasses in one and a cigar case in the other, including his torch. Now if he specifically has a suit jacket on then he totally has a handkerchief as well.

▼: What would you find in your muse’s refrigerator right now?

Nothing too surprising. You’d find the necessary things and probably more given the sheer size of his fridge and cause he has enough money to spend. Lots of stuff to use for cooking, frozen foods in the freezer that don’t suck, ice-cream cause he kinda has a sweet tooth, etc. Just a whole slew of things for various different reasons; a big one being how much he eats given how active he gets. Motherfucker’s a shonen protag is2g. Keeps beers and whatever in a different fridge because he’s just that kinda guy.

✎: Growing up, did your muse have a teacher or mentor figure? What was their relationship like?

The closest mentor figures would probably be his parents. They taught him a lot of skills that he would later retain as he grew older. His dad was the one who got him into boxing and eventually had him begin lessons. His mom knew how to handle guns very well and showed Boss how to when he was old enough. Also taught him to cook because she’s French and I’m an asshole. I’d almost group in the people his dad worked with that he met but that’s more or less just slowly influencing his eventual decision of joining a gang.

Also their relationship was great. He adored his parents and they adores him right back. Is really excited to let his girls hang out with their grandparents soon.

Just came to me but Boss definitely takes photos of some real big and ridiculous things he’s accomplished/is proud of. I’m entirely basing this on the fact he snapped a photo of when he blew up the Thermopylae but knowing me I’m GOIN’ FURTHER cause I think it’s funny.

So expect photos of him about to parachute outta places, heists, explosions he set up, and etc.

9. How much ice do they put in their drinks?

I suppose that’s like super dependent on say what drink he’s having. Like what you gotta remember is that ice can pretty much water down any drink you have. So either you keep it at a minimum or some kinda fine balance. Now if we bring up alcohol like say whiskey or whatever - we have the alternative of using these metal ice cubes that basically keep your drink cool without watering it down.

No one wants to have something watered down unless there’s a point in it. And I suppose the amount is a big fact cause again, too much ice can really water it down while less will do just exactly that.

This is probably going to be really disjointed because I’m not super great at writing these sorts of things out, but I kinda wanna ramble about it.

So due to the thread I’m currently having with @curlybrxws I’ve been thinking of the importance of canonization in the Saints. Now for the people who don’t know - canonization is an actual real  act by which the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodoxy, Roman Catholic, or Anglican Church declares that a person who has died was a saint, upon which declaration the person is included in the canon, or list, of recognized saints.

And yes I did just rip that off of Wikipedia.

But the point is that this is used in the gang as well, albeit for completely different reasons and so on and so forth. The basic gist of canonization with the Saints is a new recruit being put to the test by fighting other members of the gang. How many they fight is up for question. But that’s basically it. You fight, you either win or survive long enough, you are canonized as a Saint.

And I think that’s a truly important thing to keep in the gang despite them elevating to a criminal organization. They keep a lot of their roots (at least with how I do things), this being one of them. It’s a harsh and incredibly difficult thing to get by considering the strength of the crew, but I think that’s the point. If you can’t make it past this sort of thing then what says of you when you’re out in the streets dealing with other gangs and law enforcement? They won’t back down at all. You sure as shit won’t die through canonization, but if you can’t handle that then you really might not be cut out for this sort of life.

Granted not everyone should have to go through this. Some special cases need to be made, given a variety of reasons. So I do think other tasks can be involved in order to show your worth to both the Boss and the Saints. Not everyone can fight, but people can still bring in something that can benefit the gang as a whole. Which, again, is where other ideas may pop in.

I’m not sure if there’s a real way to conclude this other than just showcasing how important of a thing it is to the Saints. If you can’t manage this sort of thing then you sure won’t survive this sort of life whatsoever. You need to be prepared for essentially anything when it comes to being with them. People have potential to be a good Saint, it’s whether or not they can showcase that and prove it is the thing.

🙋 + childhood

Childhood

Boss’ childhood is something I’m still generally trying to form solid ideas with. It’s difficult to really explore it when I have trouble really thinking over how his parents were other than incredibly basic ideas that still mean something in the end. At most I can tell you that he honestly grew up relatively fine. His parents love him and did their hardest to provide for him and his siblings.

Given my HC of Boss’ dad being in the Irish mob given their place of residence, I’d like to think he’d see some of the people his dad worked with around the house from time to time. Probably had an idea what was going on when he got a bit older. Never really bothered him. Hell, it’s probably what began to influence decisions later on in life. An indicator of his environment being part of what shaped him to who he is now.

He had friends but never really felt much of a connection. Always felt bothered by the fact that he didn’t. Like he appreciated having people around, but nothing felt that genuine. Till he met a certain murder-loving bozo.

Looking at this now made me realize I’m just kinda spitballing ideas I’ve had. One that will always stick with me though is the one where as a bit of an older teenager up until he left Boston, he would take part in underground bare-knuckle boxing rings; which I’ve been told of by various people I know who live in Boston. Hell, it’s what began to fuel his passion for fighting.
