Cassus had no reason to be hatched and kept by his parents, all four of his siblings already fill roles within the clan; Minerva’s being groomed to take their mother’s place, Ginerva is the clan’s mapmaker and explorer, Korak is being groomed by their father to be the wind sage. Sardon even took the place of general in their forces so Cassus is basically just existing as far as anyone is concerned.
of course he doesn’t mind, just means more time to himself.
