Normally, Viktor didn’t look cheery during the year end holidays.

Memories of one thing or another soured them, or the nigh oppressive cheeriness of the season made them itchy, or the songs—the awful miserable looping hell of barely a handful of songs blasting from every public speaker 24/7, as if every other song was annually burned away in a Christmas fireplace recreation of the Library of Alexandria—

… Well, it was usually something.

However, today, they looked rather… content. Maybe even smiling a bit more genuinely than usual. Their head didn’t feel too heavy, at least for now.

And yet, not a fresh tally on them, strangely enough.

Was it possible they were just genuinely in a good mood?

Maybe, at least for a second, they just were happy to be warm in a new sweater and scarf, and catch snowflakes on their fingertips, watching them melt away from the heat of the blood under the skin.

A little reminder of how blissfully ephemeral it all could be…

The occasional Chanukkah music had been pretty good though.

Christmas Presents; For Seraphina Parkinson || From Doris Purkiss [ @doris-purkisses ]

A neatly wrapped package, coloured purple with tiny pink Christmas trees, is delivered by a postal owl from the post office in Diagon Alley.

Inside the package is a large box of assorted honeydukes sweets, including anti-gravity lollipops, fizzing whizbees and ice mice, as well as a pair of leather fingerless gloves.

Happy Christmas! I hope you are enjoying your holidays!

I hope very much that you like your present, I’m not the best at gift giving but I thought these were cool. 

See you back at Hogwarts in the new year!

He's laid out next to Sam in the bed, soaking up the afterglow of their most recent activity, cheap angel wings and halo long discarded along with the handcuffs. A low hum vibrates deep in his chest, followed up by a soft sigh of contentment. There's a beat of silence, and then Castiel is shifting, reaching to grab his phone off the bedside table. Rolling just slightly to his side, he lifts his phone, tiny smile gracing his face as he snaps a picture.

Sam’s eyes are closed, sheets just as haphazardly tangled as limbs, one arm slung around Castiel’s shoulders. That Sam couldn’t stop smiling was a testament to how great the present had been (even if Cas’d secretly thought it’d been silly). Bits of fluff from the halo and some loose feathers lingered among slowly cooling skin, folds of cotton and pillows half falling off the bed. A half murmur flutters on Sam’s lips in response to the other’s hum, hovering somewhere near falling asleep....and he’d almost gotten there when Cas turns under his arm. Sam grumbles faintly, eyes slitting open to watch, fingers belatedly trying to grip. What are you doing is building in his throat, first concerned he was getting up, then amused as the camera was lifted. 

His picture captures Sam’s messy hair, the smile that curled in answer to Castiel’s, and his happy, but somewhat still quizzical expression.

He's perched on the end of the bed, hands cuffed together in front of him, fingers curled into the blanket underneath. He'd tried to do something just a bit different for Christmas this year, but honestly, he felt a little silly with the crooked halo and wings. Here he was, however, naked save for the cheap angel wings and halo, perched and cuffed at the end of their bed, unsure of what he was actually doing and blushing like mad. "M-Merry Christmas, Sam." || [this is late buuut yes hi hullo]

A gasp curdled in Sam’s throat, and instead a garbled sound came out, choked on both surprise and arousal. Holy shit. ‘Angel’ had been an endearment that he’d attached to Castiel early on in their relationship, partially as a tease, but the joking nature had faded the deeper they got. Now there was a whole other meaning to it.

Cas was blushing, but Sam had the opposite problem- blood rushing lower, causing him to briefly tighten his grip on the bedroom door knob. What he’d been doing up until now fled along with it, and before his first footstep fell he was already starting to tug off his shirt. “Damn, I must have been real good this ear.” He growled, eyes burning with promise. Best present ever. Silly was absolutely not a word that occurred to him.

ft narcissa at christmas narcissa black has a deep and fanciful love for christmas. it is without a doubt her favorite time of year. she has always been enamored by the decorations, enchanted by the traditions, and thrilled to buy presents for those on her list every year. while usually averse to any sort of inane social gatherings, cissy is even more given to enjoying a holiday party. her traditions are irreproachably sacred to her, although perhaps make sense to few others. if left to her own devices, she will decorate the entire black manor of her own accord. there have been years when she’s put hours of work into cutting intricate snowflakes to float from the ceiling, stringing popped corn and cranberries into garland, crafting her own yule wreaths from collected sprigs of evergreen, and finding just the right corners to pin up mistletoe. cissy will even go so far as to light every candle in the manor with her own wand. her favorite decorations are the collection of nutcrackers that she loves to display near the mantle in the parlor and an old snow globe that plays a melody she keeps hidden on her own bookshelf. every year, cissy makes a point to read a collection of books before christmas eve. the snow queen, the gift of the magi, the nutcracker, and a visit from st. nicholas. on christmas eve, she’s always certain to be hidden deep in her blankets and reading a christmas carol as she firmly believes there’s no better haunting story told. she almost never sleeps the night before christmas despite insisting she have a new nightgown every year. if it snows, she will sit in her window and watch it until dawn. on christmas day, narcissa is almost always the last one to finish opening her gifts. she’s far too distracted watching the reactions of everyone else. it is a day that she always freely indulges in hot chocolate and candy canes, peppermint being one of her favorite things in the world. she does have a habit of disappearing midday. usually andromeda or regulus have to go out and find her in the cold air with newly made holly crowns for them all.

"Thank you Reno. That's so thoughtful of you. Oh! Wait a sec. I’ve got something for you too." She eagerly takes the gift from the redhead, only to reciprocate; handing him a box adorned with tiny suit designs all over it. What was held inside was an extension to upgrade his EMR---to further empower the device and its inner workings.

"Merry Christmas, Reno. And umm... be gentle. Okay?" Tifa chuckles, hiding the anxiety she felt as she could only assume how their future brawls would turn out. She takes a giant step back.

"Re--- but---!" He really did not give her a moment to spare, did he? But that was just like Reno to hasten though his impulses and leave the barmaid standing there, dizzy and confused from his sudden showcase of affection, only to disappear seconds after. She'd be lying if she said wasn't a little disappointed. She wanted to see him more than anything. But work was work. And Tifa had no place to complain even an ounce.

She feels the coldness left behind in the winter's chill, the remnants of his kiss freezing over her bottom lip.

She finally gazes at the box between her hands. It wasn't too heavy, or too light. It held a questionable weight to it though. So Tifa suspected it was on the...expensive side. Again, she didn't have room to complain. He gave her something, that was more than enough(?) And yet, for some reason, she didn't feel happy,---and on the ‘most wonderful time of the year’.                                                   What irony.

Regardless, she slips back inside her home, closing the door behind her while setting the gift on the table and retreating back behind the counter of her bar in silence.
