‘’ nothing. ‘’ ----- perhaps mystique was trying to CONVINCE herself. in truth she didn’t hate him. not really.how could she ever? he was family, he was her home. --- but she refused to see him as such any longer. she couldn’t. because if she did, then that meant she was RAVEN again. that meant she was WEAK. something she never wanted to be ever again. erik had taught her to be STRONG, to accept herself & back then she didn’t regret going with him. it had been the right choice at the time. ‘’ you know, there was a time where i really thought everything could go back to normal. --- i always believed you’d come for me eventually. i always thought you’d bring me home.’’ but it didn’t matter what charles tried or would have, because she knew she would’ve been to stubborn to go with him anyway. never would she admit that she was indeed the one that made a MISTAKE. but perhaps now she was HURT. perhaps she was weak again & that scared her. so now she had to convince herself that she hated him --- ;that she was strong and fearless -- & mystique.
‘’ is that all you have to say, charles? ‘’ oh no ----- she was on the verge of tears. ‘’do my words mean ANYTHING to you at all?’’ do i even mean anything to you? ‘’i’m not the only one who changed.’’
