♜ - Having children and Parenthood
When Hux was young, the idea of parenthood was ABHORRENT. His own father was an absolute terror, and poor Hux didn’t really realize that wasn’t the norm. It didn’t help that Brendol constantly beat Hux’s self respect down to the point where he was sure he wasn’t capable of raising a child properly.
As he got older, Hux started focusing more on work, not thinking about children much. He was committed to the First Order, and had time for nothing else. Yes, he’d think about having children with Ashesam from time to time, but that was always a distant, nearly unattainable goal. He never thought it’d be a reality.
It wasn’t until Hux and Ashesam fled to the Outer Rim and left the First Order behind that Hux realized children, a family, a normal life, that was all stuff that was possible now. The urge to have a child grew in him, and Ashesam too, and they eventually had Otanzos.
Hux was terrified of being a father at first. He worried he’d somehow end up like his own father, a monster in human skin, but the moment he held his son, he knew that wasn’t possible. He loved him too much to ever hurt him in any way. After that, he worried that he’d mess up, but no more than any other first time father. With Ashesam, and BB-17′s, help, Otanzos grew up in a warm, loving home, and Hux knew that fatherhood was the best thing to happen to him.
A daughter eventually followed, and Ashesam and I have discussed them adopting more. Abandoned stormtrooper babies who are considered “defective” (meaning they have disabilities of some sorts), meant to be sold into slavery, that Hux and Ashesam rescue and raise. Whether a child by blood or by adoption, Hux adores every one of his children. For once he feels like he’s not destroying, not tearing down. He’s giving back to the galaxy what he’d stolen for all those years.
♗♘♟♙
♗ - Their first relationship
Ashesam. It was always Ashesam. As said before, Hux never cared for romance before he met her. It was a distraction, a detriment to his quest to be emperor. Brendol always dissuaded the idea of romance in his son’s mind. Love was weakness.
Then Hux met Ashesam, and everything changed. She introduced him to a kindness, a gentleness, that Hux never knew existed. She showed him how to be happy, that he was allowed to be happy, that he was ALLOWED to be happy. When Hux met Ashesam, he knew he wanted to be with her. And as luck would have it, she wanted the same thing.
They had to keep their relationship a secret, for it the Commandant found out, he’d definitely kill Ashesam. That minor detail aside, Hux had never been happier than he was with Ashesam, and even though she was his first, he knew he’d never want another.
♘- Their first kiss
Honestly, Ashesam and I have rped so many scenarios, I’m not quite sure what our official canon is. All I know is it takes place around their first meeting, usually at the Academy, and it awakens something in Hux he never knew was there; light.
♟- The first time they knew they were in love
It probably takes Hux a long time to realize he’s in love, but only because the idea of love was so suppressed in him. When he finally realizes, though, he knows that he felt it from the very beginning. She was always special, always something different, something more. When Hux met Ashesam, he stopped existing and started living. He always loved her, it just took him a while to put a word to it.

Not all criticism is bad. Why would somebody not stop wanting to improve? Even in roleplays? Tips to improving characterization aren't personal. Just trying to enlighten. Obviously you play characters you don't have the same profession/mind set as. I'm not a murderer but I play one right? Still always want to know more about how they think.
Never said all criticism is bad, just said it’s a serious thing to do. You can help someone improve, but you have to understand the situation you’re in. Did they ask for criticism? How much detail do they want in your review of their work? If you’re editing someone’s essay, the more detail the better, but when it comes to something fun and easy like rping, unless they say “I want detailed criticism of my writing and portrayal”, being overly detailed risks wearing on their self esteem and hurting them. There’s helping someone improve, and there’s being overly anal about detail.
