3. Can you cook?

“If it’s not southern food, Ah need a recipe t’follow, but Ah know the basics.”

7. Ideal date?

“Something that doesn’t involve getting called away on a mission or almost killed by some pissed off foe, for one. For two, somewhere in the country. Nowhere specific just away from city smells, people, bullshit. Campfire and stargazin’. And other things...”

20. Favorite place to vacation?

“What’s a vacation? If Ah had t’pick a place Ah wanna go, it’d be Venice.”

26. Do you feel you could make a better parent than your parents were?

“.... ..... ................is that b’fore or after my mother abandoned me as a tyke? And daddy got shitty? Or are we talkin’ after all that shit, plus momma decidin’ there ain’t no better way t’ensure mah happiness than tryin’ t’trick mah boyfriend into fuckin’ her? If Ah rate that low on the parental scale, someone better drop a boulder on mah head...”

Sam/Arthur Cooking

//This is going to be relevant soon.

See, in the verses where her parents don’t die when she’s young, Sam DOES know how to cook moderately well enough. She’s not good, but she’s not catastrophic. 

However, most verses that’s not the cases and oh jeez, Sammy.

Sam, honey. Sweetie.

Please.

Which this is also due to Arthur’s inability to cook. They- oh, it’s bad.

Microwaving stuff is all they should do. See, Arthur’s problem is the actual cooking. He can’t tell when stuff is done and as a result he will overcook everything because “Are you sure it’s done? It doesn’t look done.” 

Sam at least stops before anything burns, but she doesn’t follow any directions/recipes as they are. “A teaspoon of vanilla? That’ll barely do anything! I’ll add in half a cup instead.” 

She’ll also leave out ingredients mentioned because “Hmmm, nah, cookies don’t need baking powder or soda or whatever it is.”

Modern!verse it’s just a tad better because recipes come right on the ingredients (like cake box mix or box potatoes), so she is more likely to follow along to it. However, she’ll do the other stuff as well, along with not actually using any measuring tools. 

Regardless of the verse, most of her stuff doesn’t come out tasting any good. Usually, this has led to when she cooks for herself to use the bare minimum (along with bc everything costs money) and then still being pretty disappointed because it still doesn’t taste any good. 

See, she really likes food and being around when people make it, but if it’s just herself she doesn’t like trying to cook at all. For some reason though when she’s around a bunch of people in the kitchen and it’s smelling good she’ll think that she will make something good too. She really does like helping out others with cooking, and it almost seems magical to her how they’re just going at this and making something delicious.

Cooking Cooking || Open || Para

So..April wasn't the best at cooking; well to be correct; she had never cooked a real meal in her life. Unless sandwiches and ramen counted as meals; she now regretted not listening to her mother and learning how to cook from her..she wasn't sure she had the sudden urge on how to cook..she wasn't sure why she thought of making a lunch from that dumb asshole..he was the one who was suppose to be going after her..but she made a promise to herself to surprise him with her cooking skills.

Yeah she could do this, and this is how she ended up borrowing cooking books from the library; she wasn't so sure what she would cook him; to be honest; what did he like..he liked strawberry pancakes..but that wasn't good for a lunchbox..so she somehow ended up going to the local Asian market; and looking at various items..why did she want to this again..oh yeah to prove him wrong that she could cook; being so deep in thought she didn't realize she was about to crash into someone.
