Shelby’s Relationships with Hellsing Characters
Integra Hellsing: Integra is Shelby’s boss and the one who recruited her into the Hellsing Organization. Integra has high expectations of Shelby (who fulfills them during the Battle of London) and once she has gotten some time in, sends her on solo missions to destroy vampire masters and their ghouls. After the Battle of London and Shelby has fused with her Guardian Demon, Shelby remains very loyal to Integra, often acting as extra security for the manor since she doesn’t need much sleep.
Walter C. Dornez: Shelby has the upmost respect for Walter. They get along very well and become close friends, up until the Battle of London. After he betrayed Hellsing, Shelby was hurt and betrayed and attacked Walter, punching him through a building and swearing at him. After his death, she respects him despite how much he hurt her.
Alucard: Partner in Crime, also fuck buddy (until feelings come out). Shelby is under Alucard’s jurisdiction, and he acts as a mentor for her as she further controls her psychic abilities. Shelby is the only human he’s allowed to feed from due to her immunity to vampirism and he especially likes to feed from her during sex. She develops a close bond with him, especially when he comes back 30 years later.
Seras Victoria: BEST FRIENDS. Seras and Shelby become the bestest of friends and hang out quite often when they’re not on missions. Sometimes they like to annoy Alucard together. After the Battle of London, Seras and Shelby lean on each other to get through the loss of Alucard until he comes back.
Laura Chastel [belongs to @cry-ptidd]: Laura and Shelby have a co-worker/friend relationship. While Laura is the maid, Shelby speaks to her with respect and goes to her for questions about sex stuff or history lessons, or trauma dumping for that matter. After the battle of London and Shelby fusing with her Guardian Demon, Laura seems to respect her for her strength and will, although she’s honestly not too happy about her relationship with Anderson.
Enrico Maxwell: HATES HIM. HATES THAT DUDE SO MUCH.
Alexander Anderson: Shelby’s first encounter with Anderson involved a bayonet through the shoulder, although Anderson seemed surprised that she wasn’t a vampire, but had a Guardian Demon instead. They have fought a couple of times, but after a mission in Germany that went wrong and both of them were injured (Anderson lost an arm and Shelby had a fatal abdomen wound), they seemed to lean on each other to recover. After that mission, Anderson seemed to gain respect for her and then an eventual pining for her, which was met equally by Shelby (although they never admit it until later). At the Battle of London, Shelby was able to prevent him from using Helena’s Nail on himself and she kicked him through a building due to how pissed she was. Shelby, unable to destroy the Nail, chucked it into the ocean. After the battle and Alucard’s “death”, Anderson took a deal to join the Hellsing Organization in order to pay for Maxwell’s crimes. Shelby remained angry with Anderson for a couple of years before she finally forgave him.
