💞: What was their first love like?💔: Have they ever had their heart broken? If so, why or how did it happen? - zetta n cuthbert
oh so you want to know about my characters...?
First Love: Zetta would never admit this, mostly because he didn’t ever realize it, but his first love would have been Chesil Liron followed almost immediately by Amari DeVang. The three of them grew up together, very closely, Chesil and Amari were the first people Rozetta ever knew, and the last two people he saw before he crossed the bridge out of Dart’tha, having never confessed that love, never even really knowing, even still, how much his heart ached for the two of them.
Heartbreak. Rozetta has experienced far too much heartbreak in far too many ways. Heartbreak as his city was destroyed. Heartbreak when he discovered his mother was the traitor who had brought the destruction. Heartbreak when he had to be the one who killed her. Heartbreak on the road ever since he’s left Dart’tha, bedding with men, with women, with anyone who desiered him, and each he always had to leave. Heartbreak even earlier, when Amari and Chesil paired off with each other. Heartbreak when, after a stint working alongside each other a fling came about with another Ri’der, Andy, that ended in he, Rozetta, breaking it off at his own fear of letting himself to feel so strongly about anything or anyone.
Heartbreak when he and his friends travelled to the sea and he became enraptured in dumb boyhood love with a girl named Fatima and that love ended in bloodshed.
Heartbreak, his earliest memory, as he raised his arms to his father to be held, and he was turned away.
First Love: Cuthbert is a funny man, but he’s a man who feels strongly and understands those feelings well. He knew he was in love with his best friends, Roland Deschain and Alain Johns when he was nine. The only problem was that both of them were too dumb to realize that THEY were also in love with HIM. Cuthbert understood for awhile, that they both needed more time, but as they grew older, into their teens, and young adulthood... Ugh! How could they NOT realize? Cuthbert was, after all, beautiful, smart, hilarious, and above all, oh so humble, what was taking them so long to figure out the obvious?
Heartbreak: Cuthbert was experienced heartbreak, like it or not! And he doesn’t think it’s at all fair that he should be subjected to such a thing. It happened when he was thirteen, and he and Alain, lead by Roland, travelled to Meijis, more desert than coast, and their dear leader had the AUDACITY to fall in love with one Susan Delgado, the lovely girl at the window. As Roland grew distant from the both of his friends, Cuthbert grew outraged, horrified, disgusted. If not for himself and Alain, but at the very thought Roland might actually be straight!
This heartbreak was deep and shattering for a boy who, normally, could think his way around anything, who could make any situation into a joke. Roland was so far from him and Alain, so enraptured by Susan, so ready to have and be with her... Acting in a way he’d never acted towards Cuthbert or Alain. Oh, it broke his poor little heart from that day and onward for years to come, long after their time in Meijis, and long after the day Susan was burned alive, erasing her from their future forever.
