Emma is worried, of course, always worried. While Iris claims that she is doing well in her day to day...how much does she actually believe her? There is an unmistakably haunted look in her eyes, one similar to men who come back from war. It's the only thing she has to compare it to, but it does set her on edge.

She hands Iris a glass of water, frowning. "I know you don't really like to talk about it, but if you need to...I'm here to listen. I promise."

Emma had been playing with her siblings all day today. Yet as playtime was over, and Isabella had to prepare dinner while putting the newborns to nap, Phil had come to Emma with tears in his eyes that he forgot his toy soldier in the forest while they were playing.

With the older kids looking after the younger ones as they head back into the house, Emma ran into the woods at full speed. Running really was her favorite thing. It’s only when Emma finally finds Phil’s toy that she hears rustling. She looks around, clutching the toy tightly.

“Phil? Did you follow me here? You know mom says you aren’t supposed to come here by yourself after dark.”

The last light of summer draped over the village, leaves beginning to crunch under boot prints. Red always loved this time of year, it was easier to hide in plain sight, especially as the wolf.

Red was quickly pulled from her chance, the slight hint of footsteps crunching in the leaves shortly behind her. “No matter how hard you try, you can never sneak up on a wolf.” A small chuckled left her lips, peeping around her hood to see the one who had been following her.

During wolfstime, Red took herself away from the castle walls, patrolling the areas Snow’s knights were too scared to explore. She had found many things of interest to her around these areas, usually documenting them in her mind before returning to the study Snow had setup for her and quickly scribbling them down on parchment.

Crouching down, Red cupped her hands in the stream that flowed below her, taking a quick drink before facing Emma. “So, what’s the plan for today? More fighting?” Red placed a hand behind her back, jabbing an imaginary sword in the air. “Or perhaps something more tame?”
