Merrick blinked a few times, trying to clear his vision after just waking up in a fright. Half of his mind was still convinced that he was still asleep, the dream was so vivid. But hearing Phoenix’s voice was enough to keep him grounded. “P-Phoenix...” He shook his head lightly. “I could have sworn it was real. It just...seemed very real.”
