amazed by her resilience, he stood in place and watched the drip of blood mar her already disastrous appearance. and he didn’t know what to do but wait - as if waiting was easy. carlos grinned back as if unfazed by the smile on her lips. she was dangerous and he didn’t know what he’d gotten himself into.

“well, i am a little surprised,” he admitted with a shrug. “it was kind of unexpected, after all.”

            "Yes, thank you. No, have a good holiday, as               well. Thank you!" 

He waved as an old costumer walked out, the door slowly sliding shut behind her. The snow outside was falling in quick wisps, whipping by outside the glass of the window that allowed him to peer out. Walking to the window, rearranging the cakes and sweets on display, Ginger smiled in reminiscence.

             "Maybe I'll bring out the gingerbread."
