Yellow Diamond stood in front of the Crystal Gems' temple holding what she thought was a traitorous scientist between her fingers, one pushed against her gem. “Any last words?” Calcite's eye welled up as she looked down at her soul mate, “Just these. Pearl, I know it took a while, but I lo-” She was cut off before she could finish, the Diamond easily shattering her and simply dumping the shards on the sand below.
RIP OUT MY MUSE’S HEART IN 1 ASK.
Oh, stars. Seeing Yellow Diamond on the beach was bad enough, seeing any Diamond on the beach was bad actually, but to see Yellow Diamond with Calcite clutched between her fingers was perhaps the worst way this day could have turned. Pearl hadn’t even summoned her spear, knowing the futility of resisting this.
Of course, the universe would separate them like this when things were finally starting to go well. Of course, the Diamonds would catch up to her when Pearl was starting to like her, to… beyond like her.
And of course, Yellow Diamond would shatter her before Pearl could hear the words she’d wanted to hear for weeks now.
Pearl fell to her knees with the shards in the sand, tears leaking out of her eyes and a searing pain in her chest and gem. Yellow Diamond had condemned her to mourn, with only death waiting for her at the end.
