Pearl woke up in a panic. She’d been… she’d been on the beach, right? A beach in front of a house with someone new, someone who wasn’t the Gem who had just walked out of the door she was lying in front of. She stood up, hands shaking as the memories of what she could only presume to be the last few hours before this moment replayed in her head, and the door slid open to reveal a blue Gem just as she remembered.

Pearl felt the hand on her ass and turned without thinking, swiping her hand to slap whoever had dared to grab her like that with an indignant squawk. It felt like her hand made contact, which was satisfying in a sick sort of way. Her mouth opened to shout a name, which one she wasn’t sure, but quickly closed when she met Calcite’s eye.

She snarled, sounding more like a dog than she normally allowed. “Get your hands off of me,” she snapped. “Just because we’re soulmates doesn’t give you permission to touch me.”

Pearl twisted her sash in her hands, tears collecting at the corner of her eyes. “And I told you that that doesn’t matter to me. To any of us. You can still talk to us, Calcite, you don’t… you don’t need to tuck yourself away. We’re. I’m here for you.”

Pearl trotted up to the other with enthusiasm burning in her eyes, grinning. “I have an idea. Your training has been going extraordinarily well, and I think it’s about time for a field test.

“I want you to come defeat a corrupted Gem with me. It should be easy enough, between the two of us.”

Bandages

Your muse walks in on mine in the bathtub. My muse is covered in wounds. Send me “Bandages” for my muses reaction to yours pulling them out of the tub and beginning to bandage their wounds.

Pearl was mostly submerged in one of her lower pools, curled into a fetal position with only her shoulders and head above the water. She wished she was higher up, less visible, but she had had to basically drag herself into her room. Why was quite obvious: blue slashes and a few burns covered her body. The injuries were bad enough to have left the pool colored by the turquoise of her blood. Her skin was starting to tint where the top of the pool lapped at her skin, leaving turquoise rings on her shoulders.

She heard her door open, and immediately sunk lower, only her eyes above the water now, and she tensed when she saw that Calcite had come to her door. She simply made eye contact, pretending that her wounds weren’t plainly visible even from there.

“…what do you want,” she mumbled.

This was something that hadn't happened to Calcite since the war, but then again it had been quite a while since she had spent extended amounts of time with other gems. The result was that she had eventually gone into heat. She didn't tell the others what had happened though. Instead Calcite had asked Peridot to bring a carrier over from the barn and holed up inside it while she waited to keep herself from doing anything she would more than likely regret later.

Pearl had come home to a lot of strange things, in her life. The entire house covered in purple and pink sticky notes, the front door just straight up missing, Ruby and Sapphire playing cards with Smoky Quartz, one time even half of the warp pad room flooded with pink kool-aid. She’d come to expect strange things to be in the temple whenever she left on a several day mission on her own.

Calcite inside of a dog carrier was not one of the things she ever expected to see after one of those missions. She was immediately drawn over, of course not aware of her... situation, and sat on her knees in front of the carrier. “Calcite, what are you doing?” she asked.
