Perhaps this day should’ve come sooner -- years ago, long before a girl with no family was able to raise and bring chaos to wherever she’d step. She knew this day would come, sooner or later, this dangerous chosen fate of hers, to live on the edge between life and death. Ashe was a professional. No one would ever catch her alive, that she promised.
She lived a long and good life. She was able to build a family. B.O.B have also always been there, for the good and the bad. Everyone understood pretty well how it all worked. It’s been a good life.... all the money, the drinks, happy celebrations after scoring a payload. They all seemed pretty content with their positions under her care. And oh, she did take care of them. They were her family after all.
It’s been a good life...
When during a dark night they worked, and something went wrong. When a bomb exploded and the Justice came to end the story of a legend. A bullet put on her chest, now burning like her soul always did during her days. A flame that’d slowly fading into nothingness. There were so many muffled sounds around, crimson gaze fixed on the night sky. The stars were out, shining bright; it was a beautiful view from down there, mixed with familiar (desperate) faces, all surrounding her. Yet, Elizabeth smiled. She smiled with a bitter-sweet taste inside her mouth - the taste of her own blood.
Stop it now, it’s shameful to look like that.... - was all she could say, voice disappearing as she’d take a slow long breath. For a moment, for a very short moment, Ashe wanted to thank them. Nothing came out. A blurry vision started taking over (and for a second she wanted to let some tears down; just for a second, but it’d hurt her pride). The voices were going away, among all the pain and the heat on her chest. One very last deep breath, when finally, she could rest. She did everything she could in this life, right....? She found what she looked for, after all.
It’s been a good life.....
