“And you’re positive this’ll work?”
Pirrha’s gaze was taken off of the glass-like shards he held in his hands, to look toward the Hunter perched atop one of the pillars within the portal room. His eyes narrowed and he gave a low grumble before returning his attention to his hands.
He knelt before one of the arches of the inactive portal, crushing the shards he held. The crushed bits of glass were set within the intricate patterns of the arch. “You shouldn’t doubt me, Iota. You know better than that.” He commented before taking a step back to look at his work.
The light within the room bounced off the shards, causing the room to light up in a soft blue and purple glow, creating patterns along the dark metallic walls.
“... It’ll take time, from what I’ve been told. But... It should work...”
The Hunter slid down the side of the pillar to the ground below, lightly stepping over to the Baron’s side, her head tilt to the side as she stared at the portal before them. “You’re really dead set on bringing him back, aren’t you?” She questioned, now looking up to him.
She knew this was important to him- his whole goal since he came back to life all those years ago was to reform his family.
He’s managed to bring back a small handful. Elykris was already back when he came to... But he’s brought back Araskes, Reksis, Yaviks. Kaniks... Well, he couldn’t even find the body in the decimated cavern system he fought that Titan in. They were completely lost.
And for some time, he assumed Hiraks would remain under the same fate. Having perished within his Throne World- unable to be found. Lost to the Ascendant Plane.
“... I am.” Came a short response after a moment, having broken himself back out of his thoughts. “That technology your Eliksni friends got their hands on is... Something. Very dangerous if in the wrong hands, you know.” He knew she trusted him for... some reason.
He had expected her to turn him and his siblings in to the Vanguard. Kill them, perhaps. He’s at the very least thankful she’s remained trustworthy- keeping to her word of aiding in keeping them a secret from the outside world until they wanted to be known. Of course- that would have happened sooner. but Kruutiks’ little scheme really put a hamper on things... Really riled up the Awoken, and the Guardians.
So now, he was back to square one. Back to hiding- acting as if he’s still dead.
“Oh, I know. That’s why I’m here with you. I can put you down if you dare to try anything.” She snapped in response, prompting a sharp laugh from the blind Baron.
“Yeah, right... You don’t even have the damned guts.” He gave a grin before reaching to his cloak, pulling out a small device. There was a glass sphere attached to it, and a trigger on the handle.
He lift his arm slightly, holding the device up, pointed toward the portal. A claw pressed against the trigger, and the device sparked to life, several arching bolts of light sent forth, hitting the frame of the portal, each crevasse housing the shards beginning to light.
After a moment, he lowered his arm once more, glancing to Iota as she took the device from his grasp.
A small crack in the air began to form within the center of the frame.
