James Potter's vows included something like "I beat the giant squid, and it's my best victory."
So I was scrolling through my tag and saw this again, and I got so much muse i wrote this. And because of the current thing rubxum and I have going so yeah. (':
As he watched her distancing form, anger bubbled up with him. It started because he got back from practice, and he asked her about her sate form the day before. Which turned to her asking how much fun he had with a girl with whom he originally wasn't sure of the name of. Things were said and it ended up with her telling him to 'just go kiss your mirror, Potter' and 'shove off' and, him being the prat he can be, said 'make me'.
Then she bloody kissed him! The girl he's fancied for so long kissed him! And walked away.
So yeah, he did feel some sort of anger at her cowardice, because if he had done the same, she would have probably stunned him. But his wand stayed in his Quidditch Robes and he looked as she walked up the dormitory---not even sparing him a glance!
"Better luck next time, Potter!" some prat of a spectator in the common room yelled.
James didn't even hesitate in his wand work; and he stormed off to his own dormitory. Only leaving five minutes later with his invisibility cloak on and after ignoring all three of his friends, wondering why he was in a terrible mood.
They way Prongs saw it; all of Hogwarts would know soon, anyway.
It didn't take him long to find his way towards the library, and only then did he strip off his cloak, find himself a book and attempted to distract himself.
Fat chance of that.
However, he did stay there. For hours, thinking about the kiss, and hating how she just walked away from him. Who does that? Why would she do that? Who plays with people's feelings like that? She must know he fancies her, despite wanting to be 'just friends', he just wants to be near her, and whenever he is---he acts like a fool!
(Or so Padfoot says. All the bloody time.)
Not to mention the amount of times he's gotten stupidly jealous over her!
With his head on the desk, and his arms surrounding him the young man didn't look up. Not when he heard someone approaching him, and not when he heard the chair across from him move.
Not even when a familiar voice spoke, "James?"
