❝Bastet.❞
The name had been spat out venomously, and in front of him was the very vile beast he disliked most. Certainly not a face he had been hoping to see this day. No matter where the serpent went, the cat was sure to follow in a never ending game of hide-and-seek. Apep was good at avoiding her, but the goddess was also good at hunting him. Now he stood before her, fists and fangs clenched together with eyes sharply narrowed, ready to strike or lash out at any moment. Despite this, though, the serpent's voice was calm.
❝You were always a party crasher, my feline friend.❞ }

"It runs in the family"
Apep and Ra are actually quite similar personality-wise. The two are stuck-up, arrogant, and attention seeking. This is what you get in royalty. Both of them squabble like children, pout and whine when things don’t go their way(however, Ra’s pouting and whining sounds more declarative and “noble” while Apep throws MAJOR hissyfits((get it?)). Ra can be just as greedy as Apep is, and in turn, Apep can also be as merciful as Ra. He gives people chances. Chaos is a ladder, and if one climbs it without falling or clinging to their gods for “guidance”, Apep will surely let them live freely. But they must earn it. Ra, on the other hand, only really caters to those that worship and glorify him just like any other Pharaoh would.

Her reply is immediate and curt, eyes nearly flashing. "I will tell you nothing of father." She returns her expression to as close to a neutral as she can manage in his presence, sharp-eyed gaze focused entirely on him in the event that he might get any ideas in that wily mind of his. "As for me, I was far better before I sensed you.”

Apep let out a light hearted laugh that took little effort to create. This amused him greatly. He knew Ma'at would react this way, as he and his niece are LITERAL opposites in the realm of the gods. She was Order and Justice, he was Chaos and Deceit. Apep and Ma'at were CONSTANTLY fighting for their place in line, whether up front or far away. He'd tip the scale, and she'd tip it back — and sometimes, they were equally as strong and forced the Scales of Truth to balance out.
❝Amun, have mercy! You truly make me laugh and that is no lie. How do you think I feel when you or that bastard you call a father come traipsing up to me without notice?❞ }
