It wasn’t like situations like this never happened, but there was always a sense of awkwardness and even guilt as Sean slipped out of bed, having sobered up slightly, or at least enough that he could grab his clothes and move to the door. He would have gotten dressed except that he could hear some stirrings from the other room and Sean wasn’t sure he wanted to deal with having a conversation about the night before just then. It was still pretty dark out, so he figured that no one would be around as he slipped out of the room, holding his clothes to his chest as he tried to make it down to where he parked in just his underwear... at least until he looked up to see someone standing in the doorway, making Sean freeze in place, embarrassment making it hard for him to think what to say. “... this is exactly what it looks like... but can we both pretend that it’s not? ... or at least can I come in to get dressed so I don’t look like as much of a mess.”
