Alright, so that might not have been the best thing to say if she wanted to win over a Jedi. And she probably wasn't appreciating his optimistic metaphor as much as she should. But as someone who had already played her share of 'bad hands', big, small and kriffing enormous, he wasn't telling her anything new.

But at least he was trying rather than sulking or giving up.

"So, what are you suggesting? We just ... stroll on in there and bluff?"

"What a perfect day for romance, isn't it?" Obi-Wan looked at Thera. "It's a pity that Cody will be busy all day today and we have a short mission to Mandalore tomorrow. But if you don't want to waste the day, I can keep you company and walk around Coruscant with you." ------------

Thera had been in full blown suspicion mode before he even finished the first sentence. One of these days Kenobi might actually take her aside and speak seriously about the matter of herself and his Marshal Commander, delve into the maybes, the whyfors, and all the potential complications of the war and the status of the Troopers once the duty they were made for was done.

One of these days. But in the meantime, naturally, he’d content himself with smiling that smug little smile and happily yanking her chain.

“Oh, thank you so much, General!” She practically cooed, even going so far as to bat her eyes, “I’m certain you’d make an excellent chaperone for the day! But ... Mandalore? Surely that’s a planet you’d prefer to visit by yourself - ?”

The trouble with chains was that you could yank the other end right back ...

Bly was only anywhere near Jedi because Cody had dragged them out of the ship. Despite having the chip out, Bly still had a hard time believing any Jedi would want a clone anywhere close. But Cody had practically beaten it into them that General Kenobi wasn’t going to hold the chip against them.

They smiled when they saw Cody’s Jedi, and saluted him quickly “General Kenobi, Cody told me you were back but it’s good to see it for myself.” They said.

The first mission Mace gave himself after figuring out what the hell was going on was to find any Jedi he could that came from his time. He needed to know who had survived and who had been brought forward after their deaths like he was. 

The first he managed to run across was Obi-Wan. Because of course it was. Yoda’s lineage was always involved.

“Obi-Wan!” He called out, striding across the distance. He looked exactly as Mace remembered him, and the older man was simply happy that at least one person he had been relatively close to was in this time as well.
