SAM. GIVE ME TBAT PUPPY EYE SAM

So, for Sam it's kinda complicated? he has a series of songs that follow a specific order which are; Poplar St. , Life itself, and finally Pork Soda all by Glass Animals.

All of these songs follow the same desperate theme of a need for attention. Poplar St. following the story of a boy getting into an inappropriate relationship with his older neighbor, clinging to her attention because she makes him feel mature & special. All of this crashing down when she calls him one day to "dump him" because he grew out of her age range. The last thing he hears from her is calling him, "just another boy." Life itself tells a similar story of a man who is stuck living in his mother's basement, a pathetic son leaching off of her money as he rants and raves about being something special. Craving to be seen as something more, as he steals his mother's money. Finally, Pork Soda is about a man reminiscing on his lost loved one as, I'm pretty sure, he's high out of his mind. the lyric, "Pineapples in my head" is usually a saying to describe someone intoxicated. There are also a few theories the song is about a man suffering brain damage.

How does this fit Samuel?

It helps follow his story regarding after the accident! Samuel is a mooch, has nothing truly to his name because his daddy's money. He can't do anything for himself and he knows that, but what else can he do besides try to convince himself maybe someday he'll be more than what the crash left him. He drinks, he smokes, he does anything and everything to feel like the teenager he once was because that was the only time he felt real. His perception of love is now warped due to something vile happening to him while hospitalized. Samuel is a dependant, navie man who holds in so many conflicting feelings. He's scared and alone.. He misses his sibling yet at the same time the mere idea of Bing makes him want to scream. He hates, he loves, he doesn't know what to do but sit there an be pathetic.. thinking about the days where he was actually a somebody.

This is McKenzie.  I love him. (I hate my art of him though, especially the hair)

He was born and lived the first few years of his life in Ireland then moved to Australia with his family.  He went to school in America where he met another student from Australia and they fell head over heels in cliche college sweetheart fashion.  Her family had moved to Australia from America too and she was staying with her grandparents who were very rich and very much did not like scrappy McKenzie.

Much to her grandparents chagrin the pair married after college and moved back to Australia where they had a baby girl (Lyra)

McKenzie joins the efforts to fight against the Omnics, he meets the Strike team during one of their missions.  Makes fast and good friends with Gabe.  He works together with them while theyre in the same areas.  He finds a severely injured girl (Isabella Rodriguez - info to follow when I get to her character sheet) he stayed with her, got her help, came to check on her after every mission and pretty much got The Dad Feelings for her instantly.  

Omnic Crisis ends, he has a near death experience (An Omnic went for the EYES, he’s left with a scar but the patch is temporary) he goes home to Australia for a while and then he gets an invite to join one Gabriel Reyes for the newly put together Overwatch (cough, Blackwatch)

While he is away, things in Australia go from bad to worse and his wife dies when the Omnium is sabotaged (Details shaky)  and Lyra goes to live with her grandparents in America. 

McKenzie’s dog, Frenzy (or McFrenzy as Gabe calls him) is very highly trained for all situations but also acts as a support dog for McKenzie.  

McKenzie acts as an unofficial second to Gabe.  He’s a Blackwatch officer and he is incredibly loyal and supportive.  He’s with Gabe and Rodriguez for the Deadlock bust and he does get shot in the shoulder from Jesse.  He doesn’t hold it against him (Rodriguez does for a while though)

He dies a little before the fall, he’s on a mission with Overwatch with another Blackwatch agent and the two of them are the only causalities of the mission.  Either a calculated move to remove one of Gabe’s supporters and further put a wedge between Blackwatch and Overwatch or a  cover up from a failed attempt for Talon to recruit him.  

I drew this version of him the other day, i really wanted him to have a crooked jaw but i cant draw it consistently.

The hat was supposed to be an Australian bush hat he wore to keep home close by but its a pain to draw and i think it makes him look to close to McCree?

Anyway, my arm aches from doodling and typing so much my hand has started shaking so if anyone is interested in knowing more about him feel free to send me asks.  I’m going to work on either Lyra or Rodriguez next (then come back and try to get this guy down a way i like him)
