Honestly, Sam doesn’t have a physical or verbal way of showing complete trust in someone. He hasn’t experienced complete trust in anyone, not in the way of what he thinks complete trust is.
He has trusted several to have his back in hunts. He’s trusted a few to have the best intentions for him. He’s trusted very rarely and sparsely with sharing his feelings.
To him, to true completely means someone who has your back, someone who has the best intentions but also someone you can turn to with your feelings no matter how dark they are. Sam hasn’t had that and no longer expects to. It took a long time to come to terms with this. It’s something he always longed for. However he’s come to realize no matter how good someone is or how close he lets them get, he isn’t going to open up about the things he tries to bury, ever.
