Matt was exhausted. He was pretty sure he had a couple bruised ribs and maybe a black eye? He really hoped not, although he supposed the way they met made for easy enough cover. Better to be a lawyer with a strange hobby than well...a lawyer with an even stranger hobby.
The knocking hadn’t woken him up but it had gotten him out of bed. Weekends were usually days off unless he was working in the office. He’d been lying on his back trying to will himself to get up and into the shower or maybe run a hot bath, but it in the end it was curiosity more than his own well being to compel him. Matt was a sure a therapist would have a lot to say about that, but he really was curious as to why Ripper was at his door. He supposed he should be more concerned given that he hadn’t told him where he lived, but these days it just wasn’t that hard to find someone.
Ripper sounded very proud of himself, but Matt had gotten the feeling he wasn’t exactly technologically savvy. Matt truly wouldn’t be surprised if he’d spent hours at a library going through phone books. It was an oddly charming idea.
“I can’t imagine how hard it was for you, tracking down the home of a semi-public figure,” Matt said with a soft snort. He was lucky that Foggy never used his face in advertising like he’d often threatened. “I’m really going to need you to elaborate on these obvious reasons. Honestly, I’m not my best before coffee.”
