“Yeah, it sure is.” Tim had a hard time hiding his lack of interest in the statement. Why were people always coming up to him and saying cryptic-- Hey, wait a second. He couldn't remember.

“Then maybe you should have thought about that before you took a job researching mysteries.” If Tim was being completely honest with himself, he was getting tired of Jon. Everyone was always talking about he felt, about how he had suffered through so much. From what he saw, Jon made problems for himself and then could never handle the consequences. "And maybe I should have done the same thing when you offered me an assistant position. But we're both stuck here. You made our beds for us."

Tim regarded them with a nervous eye, stepping back just a bit to keep a wide distance. Not too much that it was obvious he was putting space between the two of them, but enough that he felt a bit safer. After everything that had happened, he didn’t trust cryptic shit like that. There was too much that he wished he could have unlearned, but there was still so much that he needed to know. After all, how else would he get more information on...
Not trusting the cryptic shit wasn’t enough to keep his mouth shut, though. Not much could do that, aside from his own stubbornness. After all, he wasn't completely scared of the other person. They hadn't given him a reason for that yet. “What do you mean by that?” There wasn’t a strong effort to hide the suspicion in his tone.

If Tim were to be completely honest, he wasn't exactly sure who this man was. However, the man certainly knew who he was, and he wasn't the sort of man to be impolite and tell the other that. This was made especially true by the fact that he was thanking him! Clearly, Tim had done something worthwhile, maybe taken a statement? Or maybe he helped him get something off of the top shelves, taking a glance at the other's short height. Regardless, he smiled wide. It had been a while since he was last thanked for his efforts, wasn't it?
"Of course, you!" Intentionally vague. He didn't know his name. "You know I always have your back!" He reached out to slap the other on the back in a supportive gesture, grinning.
