“.....”
She was used to it. The whispers, murmurs, curious looks directed at her because they were curious...Yet they were not curious about her. They were curious about how it felt to be the daughter of her. Her mother was so beautiful, kind, brave, strong...and Serendine was forced to live in the shadow of all of these legends that circulated around-- begging the question; why are you not like her? Each dig at her would earn a clenched jaw, a tightening of her fists, a bite of her tongue. Until eventually she would snap under the pressure, unable to take the comments with a smile. Her response was rage. The sadness from the refusal to see her for her own person, had bred resentment, hatred, wrath. She was not as beautiful as her, she was not as kind, as selfless, or strong. Serendine was different, cold, calculated, logical..she liked to think, but the truth was the constant nagging transformed her into a vain, self centered monster with an inferiority complex. She knew this much. And came to accept it. She would be everything her mother was not, if only for the sole fact that people would know her name...bad or good. If they would not see her for her, then they definitely would see what they had created.
“Heh, Zermanion...”
I’ve waited and waited, from the day you enrolled into the military academy until today... Dragul, you idiot!
