“I was wondering where you wandered off too.”

Her attention was not on her whereabouts this night. A rare occurrence, yes, as she was constantly on guard. However; this time, her gaze was upon the stars, the most soothing picture nature had ever given her. Since she was a child locked in a cage and recovering from experiments and even as an adult. “Beautiful...” she had spoken quietly, not aware that she had an audience.
Kiss me.
25: Scar kiss
IN A FUTURE, FAR FAR AWAY…
….
They lay together in the inn Ultear purchased with Laxus Dreyar’s money, the blanket the only peice of cloth which was thrown over them, and the witch’s head was on Jellal’s chest. There was a light conversation, not much to be said, until the woman looked up and saw her lover in the moonlight.
And she saw his scars.
The ones he got fighting Macbeth.
Guilt washed over her as old thought of what could have happened if she wasn’t a coward and ran. A sigh left her lips then because you’d think that she would have gotten over it. Alas, the truth was to be the opposite. The darkness of the room did not hide his scars, nor did it hide her guilt. The setting seemed fitting for the pair of lovers, the pitter patter of the rain softly hit the windows, and slowly the woman lifted herself up so that her chest was on his and her elbows kept her weight.
"Ultear wha—-?"
A finger was placed upon his lips and the wich silenced her lover while her own lips lowered to his face. Confused as he was, Jellal let it happen because he knew there was no malicious intent within her actions. Her soft lips gently kissed the scars of a battle long won for Jellal. A sharp intake of breath was the reaction Ultear got, but she continued to kiss along each scar and down until her lips was on his lips.
In a way, it was her way of her saying, once more sorry.
;we'll bring a better future than we had in the past
Thanks to one of the....newest members of the guild, her return was not as much as a surprise as Ultear had wanted. Meredy tackled her of course, and some insults left her mouth because 'don't leave me again!'. Naturally, the witch promised and after a half hour of speaking alone with Meredy (the young girl had cried, and Ultear allowed some tears to shed because two days alone with her own mother merely amplified the yearning she had for her own daughter).
And now; she stood before someone she had been rather close to for seven year. As an equal, at least, for eve years. The bandages on his eyes meant that he did not even realize she was before him, but she was sure he heard her before. "What did you do to yourself, Jellal?"
There was so much to say. And so many things not to say. However, what the woman was focused on was her friend's injured eyes. Walking over, her hands tentatively reached up to cup his cheeks, her lips turned down into a frown. "Seriously, I was...gone for like four months, Jellal. I come back, there are new members, you're eyes are banged up and Meredy seems...different." There was a slight pause in her speech. What right did she have to say anything? It was her guild, yes, her family, even, but...she was gone. Perhaps if she went straight back to them once she de-aged, she could have helped.
It seemed that the pas few months were not the easiest, for her, for Meredy---and for Jellal. But that didn't matter because she was here now. And she was with them. For the moment, it was just her and Jellal.
It was obvious that he was slightly intrigued by the child in Ultear’s hands though there was also slight apprehension in his eyes as well. He made no move to get any close, silently watching. Children? Did he like children? He was…not too sure about that one. He did not mind them but he was not so sure about what their reaction would be towards him. “…Ultear…who’s baby is that?”
The idea of having a child always gave the woman mixed feelings. Excitement and apprehension were the usual two that came forth at the thought; for a while, the witch didn’t even know what having a mother meant let alone being one. Meredy change that, even though their first years together were filled with manipulation and lies (on Ulear’s part, yes) but the witch always loved her. It was a sick way to feel better about herself that she did most of that.
However, now, her and Meredy have a more healthy relationship. And she’s happy for that.
Jellal’s oiced caused a shift with her eyes from he giggling baby to the blue haired man. “One of the villager’s baby, she asked me if I wanted to hold him. It was hard to say no to such big brown eyes.”
Looking back down, the woman’s chest felt lighter as he baby’s innocent hues were not yet tainted with the world. Despite almost being a victim to a dark guild, Crime Sorciere ended that. “Would you like to hold him?" At once, the woman took a step closer to her fellow fugitive, "He’s a very nice baby. Meredy couldn’t get enough of him.”
Oh no, she was smiling. Not good. "First act as my husband for a week, give me a back massage."
