Gives nose/forehead kisses
Hector gets aggro because he can’t REACH HIGH ENOUGH to kiss Kyle’s forehead, so he’s gotta settle for nose kisses, except when he really tries to be tall. Even then, he gets the sneaking suspicion that Kyle is HELPING. In fact, there’s no illusion there. It’s pretty unmistakable when he laughs and asks if hector is “trying to be tall.” either way, they both exchange them on a pretty regular basis.
kyle has his moments of jealousy when hector compliments a waiter, or a waitress, etc. but hector is just as jealous, though with less of a reason to be so.
Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive
kyle no longer lets hector have his keys when he goes out: that in itself should be telling enough.
Takes care of on sick days
kyle is the ULTIMATE coddler, but hector has shoved him back into his bed on occasion. especially when kyle keeps saying he’s “just got the sniffles” and Hector knows he’s got pneumonia. of course, every time kyle gets sick, hector has to take off work, too, so he always catches whatever kyle has! and then kyle has to take care of him. it’s a neverending cycle honestly.
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day
Hector- because you can sit in a chair at HOME, kyle, there’s all these little fish, don’t you WANNA see a crab, there’s limpets and maybe he tried to eat one raw but he’s not telling, let’s go look at the tidepools and tease the gulls!
Gives unprompted massages
Hector- any excuse to rub out the stiffness from Kyle’s freckly shoulders, and he’s on the case.
Hector would love to drive. He really would. Except for the fact that he’s wrapped no fewer than three cars around signposts, driven them off bridges, and smashed them into walls. Kyle can drive, sort of, but most of the time, they end up taking the subway.
Brings the other lunch at work
Kyle! He even cuts the crust off sandwiches and puts in little notes.
Has the better parental relationship
Nobody wins, everybody loses. Between Kyle’s bitchy unapproachable mother and Hector’s relationship with his father, there are no winners here.
Tries to start role-playing in bed
Hector. There’s no contest.
“Would you like to touch my sword, Kyle?”
“Why are you dressed as a knight?”
“Heard you the first time.”
Embarrassingly drunk dancer
Kyle. He’s going to start taking his clothes off at any second now, but Hector always joins in with the drunk dancing. He never learns.
Still cries watching Titanic
Both of them. Kyle is the first to start, and then, after ranting about how unrealistic the situation was, Hector joins him
Firmly believes in couples costumes
Both of them! Kyle always finds something historically coordinated, while Hector’s choice of costumes is more... comedy oriented. Okay, yeah, he suggested a plug and wall socket costume once. But only once.
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas
Both of them. They both break down and get the other a pricy gift. Hector just went in debt for his, though.
Makes the other eat breakfast
Both. Their schedules are shitty, and while Kyle will work forever, his own personal needs fall by the wayside. Hector, on the other hand, just plain forgets.
Hector- Kyle is just so busy, that he can’t remember.
