"Laurentina, I'm sure you have much better things to do than to acknowledge this failure of a Hunter, but, uh..." He steeples his fingers, sheepishly. This is so unlike the Basileus from any other situation that it's borderline comedic, even. Wasn't he supposed to be a huge, stoic braggart now obsessed with his past glories?
"There's this new kid, she uses a Scythe, and I'm supposed to be her ward now. Can you, uh, teach her a thing or two about how to wield a weapon that long? I mean, you have your buzzsaw still with you, correct? It would be a big help."
"Indeed, I do have many better things to do." While it wasn't as blunt as she could be, she had zero interest in lying to Operator Basil about her current interests. Regardless, she heard him out, deciding that was the least she could do for the failed one among the Abyssal Hunters.
"You have piqued my interest somewhat." Combat was one of her strong suites, even if she felt like talking about sculpting or life in general would be more interesting. "I will teach your ward the basics. Whether or not she picks them up at first or at second is of no concern to me though, I'd rather not waste my time if she's not even the least bit competent."
