trap card: spellbinding circle [open]
{ 'You can't really trust anyone' is as familiar concept as it gets so far as Kaiba is concerned, and the one part of that little speech that rings true. The rest of it sounds like a bunch of nonsense, and not just because Kaiba doesn't really get the situation he's in; but, well, that too. It's enough to have the CEO all but fuming, and the fact that this isn't even the first time he's been kidnapped does little to help his temperament. What's exactly is the point of this experiment? He has to wonder, though he stubbornly reminds himself that he doesn't really care-- the reason for the project overall doesn't matter half as much as why he, specifically, would be whisked away against his will.
And then there was this brand. He studies it more thoroughly than he had initially, attention torn between it and that voice, displeasure with the situation clear as day on his face as he walks through the facility. If he really wanted to call it that-- stubbornness and frustration make it seem really not all that impressive, and he scoffs loudly as he walks with the certainty that yes, he's seen much better. The thought somehow makes it all the more annoying that he's stuck here, and he roughly pulls his sleeve back down over the mark. What's the point of an experiment with a partner if you can't trust one?
Well-- whatever. They certainly can't hold him for long, so far as the youth's ego was concerned with convincing him, and in the meantime... It's already clear to him he still has his duel disk, and a quick pat down reveals his deck is still on him, and found to be intact when he carefully sifts through the cards. Why leave them? He couldn't imagine that these people didn't know their value, but, oh well. It's all the better for him this way, and one problem to check off the list of issues needing resolved. As for how things would run back home in his absence... Well, Mokuba was surely still at home, and he would know what to do for the time being in terms of the company. Roland could surely care for the boy adequately until Seto returned-- and so he ignored the twinge in his gut at the thought of being separated from his brother-- and well, it was only a matter of time before he found his way home, one way or another.
In the meantime, he wanted answers, and spots his opportunity for getting them as he lays eyes on another person-- and with a quick stride, a hand on their shoulder, an obvious demand for their attention. The nagging worry of Seto that he's been ignoring gives way to the confidence of Kaiba fully. }
❝ Hey-- You. Where is this? ❞
