Stephanie joins Simmons and Johnson in going into the Framework where the world has gone mad and Hydra is in control. Stephanie learns she’s a torture officer at the Triskelion and nearly breaks after being forced to use her powers in a way she never thought she could to kill one of two Inhuman detainees. She manages to locate Agent May and Fitz, though learns they are far from help, but Daisy quickly finds her and the two reunite with Jemma.
With their only means of escape unavailable, the 3 struggle to find a way back to the real world. Simmons and Coulson go with Ward while Stephanie and Daisy are requested for a mission by agent May, but it quickly turns for the worse when they find Mack, with his daughter, and bring them in for intel. Daisy, ever caring about her teammates, is tricked into giving up her identity and imprisoned while Stephanie struggles to maintain herself in order to be the upper hand for the two later on.
While Daisy is left to be interrogated, Stephanie tries to make a leave to regroup with the Resistance, but is stopped by May when she requests her again for her assistance on some new intel. Stephanie plays along up until she’s able to get on the ground again and reconnect with Coulson and, to her surprise, Trip. While they work to save the kids inside, May shoots down the building before going in to verify Mace’s death. Stephanie and Mace are left trapped under the heavy debris and, despite her powers, unable to free either of them. Mace ultimately sacrifices himself and the settling of the debris gives Stephanie the moment she needs to escape and she returns to the Playground with the others while May realizes too late of her life’s choices and makes her turn on Hydra, sneaking a Terrigen crystal to aid Daisy back at the Triskelion.
At the Playground, Stephanie and the others mourn the loss of Mace while keeping an eye on the news broadcast where they learn about Daisy’s attack against Aida. She leaves with Simmons and Triplett to recon at the naval base in the Baltic Sea where they discover Aida’s end goal plan.
Selvik, Simmons, and Johnson reunite once again and share their learned intel and begin their mission to open the portal back to the real world. After a brief hiccup between them, the team heads to the coordinates of the back door portal only to find that it’s been hidden in a steel mill beneath a bulk of molten steel instead of being in a park like Radcliff had designed. Stephanie attempts to pull the molten steel aside, but in her weakened state her powers are not strong enough. Daisy offers her powers and together the two of them easily hold the danger aside to expose the portal. As they become ambushed, Coulson and May make the exit, then Jemma and Fitz. Daisy and Stephanie are left to try and convince Mack to join them, but he refuses for his daughter. The two women reluctantly leave him and wake up in the real world once again.
Finally back in the real world their success is short lived as the Zephyr One team deals with Ivanon’s men and fly to the oil platform to rescue the rest of the team. After a surprise assistance from Aida, thanks to Fitz, they save the still unconscious Mack and eventually lock Fitz and Aida in containment once back to the ruined Playground, leaving the rest of the team to discuss the events of the Framework. Talbot's men cut them short, however, just as Aida loses herself in a blind rage. Stephanie uses her powers to try and hold Aida back, but ultimately is rushed to leave aboard the Zephy again.
With the reappearance of the Ghost Rider, Stephanie works with the team to plan a way to rid Aida once and for all. They get their chance when Aida attacks the Committee session with LMD’s, but not before Talbot is shot by an LMD of Daisy. The team work together to take out the LMD’s and Stephanie manages to reclaim the Darkhold that Aida was after, but just holding the book makes her feel incredibly ill and she hands it over to Coulson instead. The group head back to the Playground with their plan against Aida, tricking her in order to think she has the upper hand. With Coulson borrowing the Spirit of Vengeance, Aida is finally killed. The Darkhold is given to Robbie who takes it back to Hell where it belongs, and Mack and Rodriguez reunite with the rest of them. After a happy reunion, Stephanie and Fitz are still considerably shaken by the past events, and while Fitz offers to turn himself in despite everyone’s refusal, Stephanie declares her break from the team in order to recoup on her own and leaves back for her New York apartment.
