meme ;; Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship [a c c e p t i n g]
headcanon i. lia idolizes ariadne and grows to believe that she is everything that the men and women of the templar order should be. this admiration extends to the way that she fights. when ariadne offers to show lia a thing or two on the sparring grounds at templar headquarters, the magekiller is thrilled (although she tries to disguise her enthusiasm gotta play it cool in front of ari ok). lia spends the days leading up to their first match paying close attention to her technique on the job, making sure she’s flawlessly executing the training passed on to her by nenealeus. she meditates, flows through patterns while making tea, visualizes the way the templar will move. when they are finally in the ring together, it’s the most fun that lia has had in years. ariadne invites lia to join her there regularly. both of them are ruthless, neither willing to let the other win. both respect the other even more after each bout.
headcanon ii. lia and ariadne not only spar, but they start to just work out together. they lift heavy iron weights (lia has to lift a little less than ariadne, but she’ll never admit that), they run through the parkways near the maren family estate (ariadne struggles to keep up with the fleet-footed lia, but lia would never hold it over her). they’ve been approached a number of times to engage in public exercises with some of the soldiers, slaves, and warriors renowned for their victories in the grand proving arena, but ariadne declines because she knows that lia doesn’t enjoy the spectacle. workout time is girl time. it makes them stronger both mentally and physically.
headcanon iii. lia will leave little trinkets that she finds at market on ariadne’s desk while the knight captain is out on business. sometimes a sprig of laurel, carefully pruned and set into a little silver vase. sometimes it is a new wine from antiva that lia hoped they could sample together. fresh olives and other delectable finger foods are also a common thing she’ll sneak onto ariadne’s desk, knowing how terrible she is at remembering to eat when she gets mired in paperwork. the most intriguing thing that lia has ever left for ariadne is a heavy, crescent moon amulet. there is no note or explanation given of its meaning and lia expects nothing in return. she considers these gestures the only ways to thank ariadne for her companionship, without actually having that conversation. words, after all, are not her strong suit.
headcanon iv. after a while, lia begins recognizing some of ariadne’s brothers and sisters in the order when she sees them on the streets of minrathous. she tries to remember each and every one’s name, and considers them friends even if they’ve never spoken. she makes a point of asking ariadne something about each of them so that the next time she sees them, she can know (ser manus… gets a new piercing for every year he’s in the order) or (ser vastus! just acquired a new pet snake.) it helps lia feel like a part of the order. helps her feel closer to her real friend – ariadne.
