spencer-the-wolf
So far, coming home has turned out to the least successful decision of her life.
She’s tried everywhere. Their home is now empty, nothing but an empty shell, a carcass of the memories that were shared there. A shadow of every argument, every kiss, every silent glance that said more than words ever could between the pair of them. Beth’s combed the entire town, Spencer’s old place, which had been locked up, there was no chance of getting in there, and this is her last resort.
Beth pushes open the door of the local bar, a place she knew that Spencer ran to when there was nowhere else to go. She freezes, heart thumping against her ribcage, eyes searching for anything familiar...and she catches sight of an outline, of shoulders that were undeniably Spencer’s. Then there’s a choice, to walk towards Spencer, to face the consequences of disappearing, of leaving without so much as a note for months on end, or running away again, and never seeing the wolf again.
Her feet do the talking for her, and before she knows it, there’s less than a foot between her and Spencer. She doesn’t know what to say, there’s nothing that seems good enough, powerful enough to announce her return. Instead, a hand reaches out and rests on the wolf’s shoulder.
