Yomi Fujiwara
"Welcome to the Fujiwara Shrine. We’re undergoing construction, so please excuse the mess.”
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 19+
Hailing from a small town in Hokkaido Japan, Yomi Fujiwara is the keeper of her family’s old shrine. Returning home after several years away, she finds herself the sole remaining member of the once-powerful Fujiwara clan. Out of a sense of duty and of looking for purpose, she’s taken it upon herself to rebuild the old shrine and take care of the spiritual needs of the townspeople. Mostly, that means keeping the oni from the nearby mountains from harassing the town and generally making sure the sleepy little town stays quiet. After her previous profession as a spirit channeler, the quiet monotony of small-town life is exactly what she needs.
Yomi is primarily designed for a modern day fantasy setting, though is flexible for other time periods, from the Meiji era to the near future. Yomi was also written to be both relatively verse-agnostic, while serving as a possible end to the career of my Kantai Collection OC, USS Missouri. If you choose to go for that flavor, she’ll reference her past as a vessel for the spirit of Missouri and Akagi.
