In all honesty he should have seen this coming. It was normal for fighting within the circle of bats && birds to turn violent- hell it was actually the normal outcome. What with all that had happened in the past few months emotions between each of them were… tense, to say the least. Just last week everyone except Bruce, of course, had removed the bat symbol from their uniforms. Which was something that cracked that shell of calm (or plain ignoring things ) that he had. He mentioned things that he probably shouldn’t have, then Tim suddenly swung.
‘ Calm down. There are some facts you just need to accept in life. ‘
No apology. It was a rare thing that someone could get from him, especially when moods were flying like this. Especially when everyone seemed to be turning against one another, as if the entire ‘family’ was breaking apart. Only cold eyes hidden behind those equally unfeeling lenses stared at the other, while a trail of red seeped from where his lip had split open. Tim must have really been pissed off at his mention of his deceased loved ones, even if he hadn’t said anything rude or harmful.
“No, I will not calm down! You don’t get to talk about my father and then tell me what to do in the same breath. Not after I’ve been ignored and put down over and over again.” He’d come to the cave because he thought it was something important, not to hear to Bruce trying to salvage the remnants of whatever was left of the team by being a huge prick.
“You know what, screw this. I don’t even operate under you anymore so I haven’t the faintest idea what I’m doing here.” Maybe he really was being naive to have come for an apology.
“And since you’re back, maybe I’ll let Damian lay his grubby fingers all over your company. I’m resigning. I’m not your son, I’m not your colleague. There’s nothing between us anymore.”
