seeing all the posts about how shit the new spn episode was is so weird from an outsiders point of view. it's like watching an avalanche fall on a town that frequently gets avalanched, a town that u used to live in but moved away from, and u loved that town even tho it was shit and the avalanches were unnecessary, so a part of u is like "what are u idiots doing still living there" and another part of u feels kinda sad bc that's still your hometown and that's still your family so each avalanche still hurts.

au where cas is colorblind and experiences pure color for the first time ('with these cool glasses, cas, i saw them online' 'im not sure about that dean'), and is fascinated by the blue sky, the red cars and berries, the golden sunlight but most of all he’s fascinated by green

his heart tightens as he sees all the colors the leaves can be, and he doesn’t understand how people can just step on grass so green and alive… he’s already tearing up until he turns around and sees a happy, beaming face and twinkling eyes with the most gorgeous array of green and gold he’ll ever see.

u know what's my favorite headcanon? cas having to keep his grace in a small capsule, tied into a necklace that he wears around his neck u know what's even more fun to think about? cas trusting the winchesters with this delicate capsule that contains everything he's ever been, pulsing with weakened, frail, magnificent power it glows and swirls in excitement once dean's fingers brush against the container. it knows that this boy unleashed castiel from heaven's imprisonment, brought him to the idea of flourishing, blooming, expanding twice his own mass with knowledge and freedom and fire. hm you know what fucks me up, though? dean cradling the capsule in his fingers... then trading it away for something else. whatever it is... that hunter passing off that feeble, crying grace would break cas a hundred miles away. that hurts
