House Wheel
This was supposed to be a finished project in Adobe AfterEffects, but I couldn’t. The houses go round and round. I still aim to do it. Hopefully soon. This was done in Adobe Illustrator.
Technical Support
Technical Support
One problem compounds another, but in the end, my views on Tech Support have changed. Hotmail promises to get back to you in 24 hours, Facebook seems to be all *Zucked* Up, so we won’t ask them for support anymore. Adobe reader has been replaced with FOXIT after promises of support for two weeks. All I need now is a replacement for FLASH plugins that (apparently) have no support.
Is my problem unique? Two weeks ago, my Hotmail friends started sending me links without descriptions or subject lines. It was sent to all their contacts. I replied to “ALL”, to warn other contacts that this was not the person, do not click the link: that account was compromised. Whatever code Hotmail allowed in, infected me because of that reply. I reported my own Hotmail account was sending SPAM, changed passwords, and continued on. Hotmail locked me out. I opened other accounts, sent requests for assistance and hoped I could reclaim my hotmail account that I had used since 1996. No reply (of course) but besides the lost contacts, saved emails and important data associated with my first and long-time email account, all my Facebook notifications were sent to this Hotmail account!.
I tried to change my email notifications: Facebook promised to send an email to allow my (now second) other account to be listed. They never did. I contacted them; changed emails again, tried again, nothing. Facebook notifications were piling up, and I cannot reasonably be expected to catch up on the thousands of emails I have received since August 2011 to an account I cannot access.
So disappointed with the support from Facebook, I turned to Google+ as the alternative. My Flash Player and Adobe Reader were also acting up in Firefox. I sent a Tweet to @Adobe who forwarded it to @Adobe_Care
Adobe Adobe @novascotiarasta Hi, notifying @adobe_care to see if they can help with your Flash plug-in question. Thanks! 7 Sep
And there was no reply, well, until I sent a TWIT PIXS of the crash, and the statement that ‘maybe Adobe *doesn’t care*’ and received this reply:
Adobe_Care Adobe Customer Care @novascotiarasta How can we help with your Flash Player issue? (cc @Adobe) 13 Sep
I was going out-of-town that day, so I pre-tweeted all my details: software used, versions, browser, hardware, etc, and said I would be losing connectivity for a few days but would check for replies. I used a C@P Internet site, while on the road, to see if there was a reply. Nope, nothing, Nada. Another RE-Tweet *refresher* got this reply:
@Adobe Adobe @novascotiarasta Sorry to hear about the wait - notifying @adobe_care to see if they can help! 16 Sep
I started replying with "Keep getting offers of support? RT @Adobe: @novascotiarasta Sorry to hear about the wait - notifying @adobe_care to see if they can help!"
I am glad these are FREE Plugins that Adobe controls. God forbid I would have purchased an expensive package with such speedy technical support. I may have to complete a programming course to debug the problem myself while waiting.
Actually, I am getting tired of waiting. I moved to Gmail to replace the Hotmail account I cannot seem to reopen, use FOXIT to read that important PDF file I had two weeks ago, that crashed Adobe Reader and would not print. Even though I finally got the Facebook notifications to go to my new Gmail address, I have become quite happy with Google+ as an alternative to Facebook, you know, with the *spare time* I save, while waiting.
If you expect delays in replying, either because your tech support is busy (or you have so many problems with your software/services), please just say so.. don’t tease with promises of timely support. Some of us have been hindered long enough to give up, and we are telling all our friends to move on too.
Just disappointed ..
