34. To pretend… (This theme was a bit confusing but I think I have an idea)
“I just..” Eva didn’t know what how to put it. She and Gaina were sitting by the shore and, in a weird twist, had started talking about their love interests.
“It’s not that hard if your heart truly feels for him,” Gaina smiled. But when she saw Eva still pouting, her smile faded a bit as well. That is until an idea popped in her head. “Pretend I’m him.”
“What?” Eva laughed, thinking the idea absurd.
“It’s easy; pretend I am him. What would you say?”
“I… I can’t do that.” Eva laughed more.
“Oh come on, look I’ll even do this,” She grabbed some sand and rubbed it on her arms, “Sandy enough for you?”
“Haha, very funny,” Eva smirked with a bit of annoyance in her voice.
“Come on, what have you got to lose?” Gaina nudged her playfully.
Well, what do I have to lose? “Okay.”
“Great! Now, I am him and you just caught my, I mean, his eye. What are you gonna say or do?”
“Um, h-hello-”
“What do you want?” Gaina tried to play the tough guy card, deepening her voice.
“Hey!” Eva didn’t think that was fair.
“He is a very serious guy, I don’t think shy and cute will do much for you,” Gaina said in her own voice before going back to pretend. “I’m busy. Unless you have somethi-” Eva kissed Gaina with all her might, getting lost in the pretend that instead of the mermaid, she was kissing a rugged, masterful pirate. But the feminine sound of shock broke the spell and she realized what she was doing.
“S-sorry!” Eva blushed a deep red.
“Well,” Gaina blushed herself, “If that doesn't get his attention, nothing will.”
