occupy update: post-may long
Occupy May long at Los Chilitos was a supreme success! The sun was shining - but not too hot, very important - and I got my first sunburn of the season! (very minor) The patio was welcoming, the servers hospitable, to food and drink tasty and well-priced; and being a Sunday mid-morning on 17th ave, the traffic noise wasn't overwhelming. We were also treated to a few drive-by's in the form of a tricked-out Dodge Woody blasting the techno-fied version of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know". Awesome.
This was possibly also the largest turnout to #occupypatio thus far and included a few non-Twitter friends (gasp!) Thanks to @ASKdesignCSI, @outdoorphil, @mayviva, @shahoo, @danellew and @cberkholtz for coming out and making it a great day to patio in Calgary.
The ever-fabulous -- and conscientious -- @vlrny offered up a suggested for our next, next occupy patio, supporting Calgary's 20 Minute Makeover, as shared on Mayor @nenshi's blog. I think this is a great idea, so look for an occupy posting coming soon where we'll be heading out to tidy #yyc streets for 20 minutes before converging on a nearby patio for a celebratory "something".
