Whumptober 2022 | Day 14
Desperate Measures | Failed escape | “I’ll be right behind you.”
"And what might this be?"
Out from within the briar, Chadrick whipped out a measley pouch of coins - the one Graham had stashed away so he could save up on food and supplies.
Graham had been camped out here for a year or so by now, living off the generosity of the people he helped out. Thankfully, the villagers were kind enough to help sustain him for another day, but he wasn't going to get paid again until another mission.
Chadrick did not care to understand that.
"I save your life and you can't even bother to properly pay your dues." Chadrick yanked Graham up by the hood. "What's stopping me from revoking my end of the deal?"
"Fine, take it," Graham wheezed, "Just don't take my life."
Chadrick scoffed, dropped Graham onto the grass, then marched away.
Graham huffed. Guess it was time to move the camp again.
