there wasn’t much jebediah duddy didn’t know about the west, because the west was what raised him. aside from being the son of a tennessee pastor man, deserts and prairies and mountains and all the sin that came with it was what he felt comfortable in. it was what he could strive in. but, he hadn’t gone by jebediah in years, and his current persona, that of doctor joseph dutton, was supposed to be a northerner with no experience of the great wide open. that certain brand of ignorance was an easy part to play, especially for a conman such as himself. ❝ would you happen know anyone in these parts with a sickness, sir ? i’m a traveling practitioner of modern medicine, and i’ll be in town for a few weeks. ❞
