CS Fic Rec Monday: "X Never Ever Marks the Spot" by: @kmomof4

If you love an adventurous story that puts our favorite pirate and princess in a fast-paced, suspenseful, and ultimately fulfilling, action-packed love story, then this one is for you!! I had the honor of beta-reading this short MC, and I am already anxious to go back and read it all again from start to finish. I've never been the biggest Indiana Jones fan, but picturing Killian Jones as the intrepid archeologist gives it a whole new appeal. (And if you already love Indy, then you'll go absolutely crazy for this!) I really got a kick out of Emma in this one especially, and I loved how Krystal worked in so many loved - and hated - OuaT characters so deftly.

How long have you been a part of the CS fandom? 

I became a part of the fandom in August of 2016.

 What is your favorite part about fandom? 

The friendships I’ve made with people from all over the world and all walks of life! I met my two very best friends in the world right here on tumblr and I don’t know what I’d ever do without them in my life!

What drew you to this event? 

It’s my baby!!! After a discussion with @snowbellewells in October or November of 2017 on the woeful lack of werewolf Killian fics, the seed was sown. Coupled with the knowledge that @totheendoftheworldortime and @artistic-writer were both in the planning stages of writing werewolf fics the following spring, I decided to do an informal poll about the feasibility of an event centered around werewolf fics. That evolved into supernatural fics in general and the CS Supernatural Summer was born! With the success of that first year, we did it again last summer, and now here we are again!

Will you be participating either as a writer or artist? If so, what will you be doing? 

YES!!! For the FIRST time!!! I only started writing last year so I figured I should finally write for my own event! I had an idea last fall for a vampire Killian fic that was no more than Killian holding out his hand to newly turned Emma saying “Arise, my love. Join me, forever.” When I found out that @thisonesatellite’s birthday was coming up soon, I decided to gift her with some vampire smut based off that idea I had. But as I thought about it more, an entire backstory and resolution came along with it. As a result, only the smut has been published so far, you can find it on ao3, while the rest will be published with the event this summer. And you can be sure that I’ve gotten an earful from several folks about how awful I am for making them wait that long for the rest of it!

What do you do in your "real life?" 

I’m a homeschooling mother of 4. My boys are both in college. And I now have 2 1/2 more years before my girls will both be done. 

What are you most looking forward to in this event? 

I’m looking forward to working with almost an entirely new team of mods this year and seeing the reception the rest of my fic gets when it starts dropping in June.

CS Fic Rec Monday: “Safe” by: @kmomof4

So, this @cshalloweek ficlet was written way back in October of last year, but I am slow and lost track of it, so didn’t get it read until now. It’s just a short glimpse of Killian as a vampire, and his then discovering the newly turned Emma and being captivated by her and needing to ensure her safety.  It won’t take you anytime to read, but you’ll be completely caught up in it, and then you’ll finish and joining me in hoping maybe we can entice @kmomof4​ to give us more of this one... ;)  It really is that good!!

(I didn’t make the cover art, but it’s gorgeous, and hopefully it’s okay that I include it in the rec as well to draw more eyes to the story. It looks like @kmomof4​ made the art herself, with some awesome manips by @spartanguard​! )

Laura’s GTKM will drop on Sunday, with Saira’s on Tuesday, and Stephanie’s on Thursday leading up to signups opening next Sunday on the 19th!!!! So be thinking about how you’d like to participate and follow the blog so you don’t miss anything!! Until Sunday y'all!!!

Drumroll Please...

Everyone please welcome @katie-dub to your team of moderators for the CSSNS! She joined the event when I sent out the appeal for more artists and I was beyond thrilled when she joined! She also set up the Discord server for the CSSNS, for which I bow down and kiss her feet...

So everyone go say “hi!” and give her all the love for everything she's already done for us and everything she will do in the coming months! If you have any questions or problems with the discord server, she’ll be able to help you. Because I am tech useless and Laura’s not terribly knowledgable about it either.
