So Buster Keaton

is a cool guy, yeah? I very clearly remember the day I was thrust into some Buster Keaton lovins. I went to a special event. A radio show was interviewing this 92-year-old man who used to play the organ for silent films.

They do the radio bit, and then the treat for the audience is a screening of "The General" accompanied by this old dude! Playing the organ! For the entire length of the movie!

And we just... were blown away. Both by the man and by the movie.

Like, for its time, "The General" was expensive, and hard-core? Like, and the stunts were all real. No green screen back then. Like this gem:

And? Buster Keaton is hilarious?

This short film was one of the things that really got me interested in animation and of working in animation. I love the treatment of the characters and the movement and it’s overall a super sweet little film.

Dunno why I've never tried to draw Arthur before. I adore pantomime characters (and SKIP in general). Hero too, her design's precious.
