VMAs 2016? Remember when I told you all that some random guys showed up at my school and asked to film a music video. Thinking it wasn't a big deal, I said, "sure, why not... but it's not finished?" Then two days later they show up with real deal equipment and a crew while half my school gathered around in awe. Remember when I also said they insisted on me being in it? Well, here's the finished product and I think it's awesome(ly hilarious). I've watched it more times than I can count and it keeps getting better and better, enjoy! Oh, and this chorus "Olenia, dodo, osusia. Amanga nyara alusa" is a nursery rhyme in Lugbarati that the P1/P2 pupils sing sometimes before lunch time. The whole basis of this song is about food taboos all over the world (hense, world map) like "girls can't eat this, kids can't eat that, etc." So these three foods listed: enyasa (the brown blob in their hands), dodo (the greens), and osusi (beans) are the local food of W. Nile. So now you know what I eat nearly everyday here! (#peacecorpsthirdgoal) Anyways, this was a fun opportunity to say the least. Apparently there are more in the making so yes, slowly but surely I'm becoming a village celeb. But more importantly, I'm having a blast. Adding this one to the bucket list. Check.
