Pictures of two scattered on the carpet, silence filled with one song on repeat, three bottles of red wine. Her heartbeat was deep, her eyes were heavy. Everywhere she looked was blurry. It was about time she had enough. It was about time she looked at her surroundings. But everywhere she looked looked as if it was on fire. She could no longer recognize the long known faces on the photos she had once loved. "Come back home," the song whispered, and that's when she let out a tear. Her heart sunk deeper than ever and that was when she gave in. She stood in silence before falling to the ground; her back leaning on the wall. Home. Come back home. It was all that was running through her mind. She knew it was right to fight against what she wanted. As the song continued, she chose to blast it out, so that no wave of any more sound were to be heard. Her tears filled her eyes as she crawled to her apartment door, with the same lyrics coming up again. A long sigh left her damp lips as she whispered along with the lyrics, but much slower than the right tempo. "Come," she took a breath, holding the lock. "Come back home.." She whispered, locking the door. A wave of guilt rush through her, but she proceeded to wipe her tears away, trying to pick herself up again. After a moment of her own silence with her head leaning on the door, she turned around and changed the song. Skulling her last glass of wine down, she left her own mess behind, and walked to her bed. No sheets on, she looked at the ceiling, but her eyes seemed to have seen more than the ceiling. It was as if the entire sky was right before her eyes. All she could see were the stars embroidered in the night sky, as her lips mouthed the words of the song. "I wish you could be me," she wrote it in hangul with her finger. "I wish I could be you," again, she wrote it, but took a break. Once the chorus rose again, she sung. "I wish I could love you," she grew louder. "I wish you would love me," and soon she belted the lyrics out, but here she replaced the words. "I wish you could feel it just for one day. Your heart, my heart." Until she grew tired. There was nothing left in her. Just an exhausted girl. The lyrics meant nothing to her; it was her favorite song. She didn't know what she was singing. One last text before she fell asleep; but it was left unsent. Her eyes were heavy with distraught and weakness. For once in her life she was vulnerable. [ text : don't do it. ] come back home.
