                    ❛ hai, i will, ❜ he responded optimistically, probably more for hisown sanity than for hers. it was apparent that chika-ra was forced to put up with a lot from the other sec-ond-years – shimizu-san suffered from their chara-des, as well. maybe it was because she knew this that she was telling him to remain safe; but, he him-self really needed to ensure that this next field trip w-ouldn’t cause him to lose his mind as a result of th-eir actions.

he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stick up in shock, having never expected such a forward dem-and from someone before. after all, it’s not like chi-kara normally gets attention of this type ( or if he di-d, he was probably too oblivious to it anyhow to ca-re ). he wasn’t someone who necessarily basked in the attention of girls, though he did feel just as p-ressured as any normal high school boy to try pur-suing them. he’d just never taken those latent thou-ghts & turned them into something he could act on.

unusually enough, this one caught him by surprise, & his eyes widened, mouth dropping open a bit. w-hat was she trying to imply? -- or was this a serious request?

                    ❛ i am being honest, ❜ for once, chikara decides to take the blame to save tanaka & noya. already, they’ve done enough wrongthis week to earn themselves an hour long time-out. it’s not worth it, he thinks, since in the end it’s alre-ady expected that they should be the ones making t-he mistakes & causing trouble ( not chikara, though – he’s obviously lying for their sake ). likely, they wou-ld face a milder form of sugawara’s deadly wrath, s-ince they got in trouble too often for his words to res-onate long enough to stop them next time. but chika-ra, no… he’s good; he’ll be destroyed for admitting to this offense.
